Abstract

Safety implications for the bicyclist at the intersection is taken into consideration. Collection of data for the volume of the traffic in different categories of vehicles is conducted. Collection of data is conducted during peak hour of traffic in morning and evening for 2 hours for working day and during weekend day i.e on 23.11.2020 and 29.11.2020 respectively. For collection of data we use videography survey. From this data, we compare it with IRC guideline to provide separate cycle track for bicyclists. Convert the vehicle per hour data into PCU per hour for capacity of rotary intersection. We use IRC 65- 1976 guidelines and IRC 11 – 1962 guidelines. Find out capacity as per IRC. Compare parameter and capacity found out based on IRC with existing data. It will be observed that whether it is possible to provide separate cycle track at intersection or need to modify physical measurement of intersection.
