Abstract

Trace elemental analysis was carried out in leaves of anti- cancer medicinal plants i.e Azadiracta indica and Moringa oliefera, which are collected from Telangana region. Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometer was used to determine the concentration of trace elements like P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Se, Br, Rb and Sr. From the present results it can be observed that the elemental concentration of P, S, Cl, K, Ca and Fe are high in both medicinal plants. These results can give the information about mineral constituents of medicinal plants of Telangana region which will be helpful to develop an approach towards direct link between elemental content and its curative properties of cancer having coherence with traditional use.
