Abstract

A bypass road is special road that divert large part of traffic from main town to avoid traffic congestion from local traffic and improve the road safety. Such condition is existing in Mandvi town in Kutch, district of Gujarat state. In this town large part of through traffic and local traffic cause unnecessary slow movement of the traffic which in turns to increase in vehicle operating cost and number of accident occurred in town due to the heavy traffic. Feasibility of bypass is carried out. Land acquisition estimate and pavement design is done. Economic evaluation of Mandvi bypass is worked out using Cost-Benefit Ratio, Net Present Value Method, and Internal Rate of Return Method
