Abstract

The use of waste bottles is serious concern all over the world as it causes environmental problems. In this project the main aim was to utilize the waste pet bottles in concrete as a partial replacement instead of fine aggregate. The use of bottles in concrete makes it economical and moreover it becomes environmental friendly. The strength of concrete with partial replacement of waste tyre rubber chips at various percentages had been investigated. Compression , flexural strength were carried out for three different percentages of pet bottles say, 0%, 1%,2%,3%, 4% at 7 and 28 days curing period. The tests results indicate that as the percentage of bottles increases, greater will be the strength of the concrete and in case of 2 % replacement of pet bottles in concrete it shows the maximum strength compared to the other percentage replacement that but it decreases at 3 %.
