Abstract

In the present study the water budget equation for Jhelum basin in Srinagar was developed on the basis of precipitation, run-off, infiltration, and evapo-transpiration investigations of the catchment. Precipitation data for the District Srinagar was collected from Meteorological Department and the volume of water due to precipitation was worked out for a particular storm. Also, the hydrograph was plotted for the determination of run-off due to the storm. Infiltration studies for the District Srinagar were conducted and Evapo-transpiration was determined with the help of Blaney-Criddle Method for Srinagar. Finally, the water budget equation was developed for Jhelum basin in Srinagar.
