Abstract

Medicinal and aromatic plants contain biologically active chemical substances such as Flavanoids, alkaloids, steroids, carotenoids, saponins, tannins, glycosides and other chemical compounds which have curative properties. The plant products are also an alternative source of oils, hydrocarbon and phytochemicals. The phytochemicals have important biological activities like antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiscorbutic, anthelmintic, anti inflammatory and antipyretic. The present study focuses to phyto chemical constituents, antifungal, antioxidant and antidiabetic activities of Solanum betaceum plant extract.
