Abstract

In the present scenario many buildings are having irregular configurations. the irregularity in the configurations may be due to the necessity or it may be due to the architectural purpose. nowadays it is important to consider all the configurations of the building thoroughly before the analysis and design of the structure. structural irregularity is one of the major reason for the collapse of the building during severe earthquake. Our aim is to design the building as per the IS code provisions, by which the building can withstand against any earth quake and to prevent the damages in the building. In the present study (comparative study of symmetric and asymmetric buildings with irregularities under lateral loads) a regular building G+14,as well as asymmetric buildings having vertical and plan irregularities(c and l shape) are considered. these structures are analyzed by E-tabs software. In this study, comparison of seismic parameters such as displacement, drift, base shear and torsion has been done at each storey level between all the models considered
