Abstract

Electrical power losses is considered as important factor for the operation of power systems. There are various methods which are used for reducing real power losses in transmission system. These methods helps to reduce real power losses and improve the voltage profile of the system. The proposed method is used for the optimal location and sizing of FACTS devices such as SVC and UPFC using
Teaching and Learning Based Algorithm The main objective is to minimize real power losses while keeping the voltage profiles in the network within specified limits. The proposed technique is tested to IEEE 14 Bus system
