Abstract

A Comparative analysis of Passive Shunt Filter with TCR and TSC combination for Power Quality Improvement was proposed in this paper. A Passive shunt filter (PSF) based on Thyristor control Reactor (TCR) & with Thyristor switch capacitor (TSC) combination was used for Power Quality Improvement with the help of MATLAB software. The proposed TCR & TSC combination with PSF was applied to three phase power system with 415V voltage and 50Hz frequency AC supply connected to a non-linear load. The result shows that the Passive shunt filter with TCR & TSC combination produces lower Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
