Abstract

A Comparative Analysis of Power Quality improvement with PQ Theory & DC Link Control Scheme of Non-Linear Load by using Shunt Active Power Filter was proposed in this paper. A shunt active power filter(SAPF) based on PQ Theory & with DC link voltage hysteresis current control was used with the help of MATLAB software. The proposed active power filter was applied to three phase power system
with 415V voltage and 50Hz frequency AC supply connected to a non-linear load. The result shows that the shunt active power filter with PQ Theory produces lower Total Harmonic Distortion(THD) than the active power filter with DC Link voltage hysteresis current control.
