🎯 Aims

IJTIMES is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by KG Publication that publishes original research, systematic and methodological reviews, and short communications across the broad domains of engineering and technology, management and applied economics, and the basic sciences and mathematics that support engineering and technological research. The journal serves as a platform for interdisciplinary, applied, and theoretically grounded scholarship that addresses contemporary scientific, technological, industrial, and managerial challenges.

The journal aims to publish work that demonstrates originality, methodological rigour, reproducibility, and clearly articulated contributions to theory, practice, or policy. IJTIMES welcomes both single-discipline studies of high methodological quality and interdisciplinary work that draws on more than one of its subject domains.

🔎 Scope

The journal's scope is organised around three subject domains, reflecting its classification under Engineering (miscellaneous), Modeling and Simulation, Business, Management and Accounting (miscellaneous), and Mathematics (miscellaneous). The areas listed below are indicative rather than exhaustive; submissions outside these examples but within the broad subject domains are welcome.

Engineering and Technology

IJTIMES welcomes research across the engineering and technology disciplines, including:

  • Computing and intelligent systems: computer science and computer engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning, deep learning and generative AI, computer vision and pattern recognition, data engineering and data-driven systems, information technology, cybersecurity, blockchain and distributed systems, Internet of Things, edge and cloud computing, and computational modelling and simulation including digital twins.
  • Mechanical and industrial engineering: design and analysis of mechanical systems, manufacturing and production engineering, additive manufacturing, materials science and engineering, mechatronics, industrial automation and robotics, non-destructive testing and condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and Industry 4.0 implementations.
  • Electrical, electronics, and communication engineering: electrical engineering, electronics engineering, telecommunication engineering, control systems engineering, instrumentation engineering, signal processing, and energy and power engineering.
  • Civil, structural, and environmental engineering: civil and structural engineering, environmental engineering, sustainable engineering, and infrastructure systems, particularly where the work has an interdisciplinary computational, materials, or management dimension.
  • Architecture and the built environment: sustainable and green building technologies, smart buildings and infrastructure, urban and regional planning, and building materials and construction technologies, particularly where the work intersects with engineering, computation, or sustainability.
  • Biomedical and healthcare engineering: biomedical engineering, medical imaging and signal processing, healthcare data systems, and bioengineering, particularly where the work has an engineering, computational, or device-design dimension.
  • Allied engineering disciplines: automotive and aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, agricultural engineering, mining and petroleum engineering, and other engineering disciplines, especially where the work demonstrates methodological rigour and broader interdisciplinary relevance.

Basic Sciences and Applied Mathematics

IJTIMES welcomes research in the basic sciences and mathematics where such work provides theoretical foundations, analytical frameworks, computational models, experimental validation, or methodological support for engineering, technological, or applied research. Areas of interest include:

  • Applied mathematics and computational mathematics
  • Mathematical modelling and simulation
  • Statistics, probability, and applied statistical methods
  • Operations research and optimisation
  • Applied physics and applied chemistry
  • Materials chemistry and materials physics

✅ In-Scope Examples

The following examples illustrate the range of work IJTIMES publishes:

  • A deep learning framework for non-destructive evaluation of aerospace components
  • A blockchain-based digital signature framework for healthcare data security, with deployment analysis
  • A predictive analytics model for AI-supported corporate decision-making
  • An optimised segmentation method for medical imaging with industrial relevance
  • A multidimensional evaluation framework for parallel data-mining algorithms on big data platforms
  • A methodological review of bond-strength scientometric analysis using bibliometric tools
  • An engineering-economics study of project delivery in infrastructure construction
  • A simulation-based optimisation of supply chain resilience under disruption scenarios

🚫 Out of Scope

IJTIMES applies rigorous initial screening for scope-fit, methodological adequacy, and originality before sending manuscripts to peer review. The following categories of work are typically declined at desk-screen:

  • Pure mathematics or theoretical computer science with no demonstrated application or methodological contribution
  • Clinical or biomedical research without an engineering, computational, or device-design dimension
  • Pure social-science studies or qualitative organisational research without an analytical, empirical, or computational component
  • Educational or pedagogical studies without a technical, methodological, or analytical core
  • Software demonstrations, product reports, or feasibility notes without a clear research contribution
  • Manuscripts where the contribution is primarily a literature summary without methodological synthesis or original empirical work

Authors uncertain about scope-fit are encouraged to contact the Editor-in-Chief at editor@ijtimes.com with a short pre-submission enquiry before preparing a full manuscript.

📝 Article Types

IJTIMES publishes the following article types. Detailed length, structure, and review expectations are described on the Author Guidelines page.

  • Original Research Article: full-length empirical, methodological, or theoretical contribution with original findings.
  • Systematic or Methodological Review: structured synthesis following PRISMA, scientometric, bibliometric, or comparable established methodology.
  • Short Communication: concise report of a focused finding, including thematic syntheses, brief methodological notes, and timely findings of immediate interest.
  • Editorial: by invitation only, authored by members of the Editorial Team or invited contributors.

⭐ Particularly Welcomed Contributions

While IJTIMES accepts submissions across the full breadth of its subject domains, contributions in the following named sub-disciplines are particularly welcomed and align closely with the journal's editorial expertise:

  • Modelling and simulation
  • Engineering management
  • Operations research
  • Business analytics
  • Industrial engineering
  • Computational mathematics
  • Applied artificial intelligence in engineering and management contexts
