Abstract
The usage of alternative waste materials in place of the cement for concrete making is increasing rapidly and this approach is widely accepted due to possibility of overall economy in concrete mix in the concrete mix. The current work is about use of waste material from of Steel Industry. Ground Granulated Blast Furnace slag (GGBFS) is obtained by extinction of melted iron slag (it is a by-product of steel & iron manufacturing) from blast furnace in water to produce a glassy & granular product, after that is dried and then convert into fine powder. In recent years GGBFS largely emerged as a replacement of cement in concrete to the normal concrete. GGBFS has gain the attention among the construction companies due to its various characteristics viz. cost deduction, optimum energy,
reduction in use of cement, socio-economic and environmental benefits. The current Study includes the effects of GGBFS on concrete by replacing it with cement.
