Abstract

Traffic connected noise pollution accounts for almost two-third of the total noise pollution in an urban part. Noise, a result of urbanization, industrialization and motorization, is gradually accepted as an environmental irritation that results the human health and comfort. Traffic noise on present urban roadways reduces the value of life and the property values for persons living near these urban passages. With the increase in population, Bangalore is now the home to the second highest number of vehicles of climbing to 70.28 lakh at the end of 2017. Thus, leading to increase in traffic related noise pollution. This paper highlights the noise pollution study carried out on NH-44 for a stretch of 10.2kms from Yelahanka to chikkajala fort
