EFFECT OF EVAPORATIVE CONDENSER BY CAPILLARY ACTION ON VCR SYSTEM USING R600a AND CuO NANO MIXED WITH POE OIL AS LUBRICANT

A. Mahendra , Prof.M. YOHAN · M.tech ,Mechanical Engineering, JNTUA College Of Engineering, Anantapuram, India., IN

Abstract The concept of effect of evaporative condenser on the coefficient of performance of vapor compression system mainly carried out to improve the coefficient of performance of system by using R600a and 0.5%V of CuOnano mixed with Polyolester oil as lubricant. To improve the COP, it is required that decreases the compressor work and refrigerating effect should increases. The aim of increasing the COP of refrigeration system by using evaporative condenser instead of the air cooled condenser. In the evaporative condenser (wick from the basin wet the condenser tubes by capillary action) is used to decrease the condensing temperature which results in decrease the energy consumption by compressor and then coefficient of performance (COP) will increased. The cloth should be super absorbent fabric, which is absorbs high amount of water. Wick suck the water by capillary action from the basin and wet the condenser tubes, then the condenser rejects the heat by evaporation which results low condensing temperature compared to air cooled condenser. In additional fan or blower fixed at the end of the condenser, then heat transfer rate increases due to forced convection. Hence COP should improve and also getting better performance compared with earlier observations.

Sujithkumar Peta , Dr.K.Hemachandra Reddy, Mr.N.V.V. Bhavani Prasad · M. Tech, Department of Mechanical Engineering, JNTUACEA, IN

Abstract Hand-related apparatus needs ergonomic designs failing which may leads to hand-related musculoskeletal disorders. There have been several studies on hand-related apparatus like gearshift knobs, door knobs, gas valve knobs, butterfly nuts and screw knobs are common knobs used for daily living activities. Other knobs like the convex, knurled, spherical, cone-shaped and ridged knob are often used for industrial-related applications. The ergonomics considerations identified in knobs include aesthetic look, position, torque requirement and shape-coding. The main function of this Rotary knob is to control the blower speed of Air Conditioner (AC) in a car. So without this part AC is stuck with same settings all the time because there is no other means to change settings. To operate this component often it must be made of durable materials to keep it away from deteriorating quickly. The aim of this project is to design a Rotary knob with its detailed components and assembling the knob on to encoder according to the specifications given in encoder drawing using CATIA and also to check all the possible interferences in between the parts to prevent clashes.

EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS OF A COOLING SYSTEM BY USING DOMESTIC LIQUEFIED PETROLIUM GAS (LPG) CYLINDER WITH OUT ELECTRICITY

G. Venkatapathy , Dr. K.Hema Chandra Reddy · M.tech , Mechanical Engineering, JNTUA College Of Engineering, Anantapuram, India, IN

Abstract Preservation of some medicine and food are impossible in remote areas, mines and deserts due to lack of electricity. So instead of electricity a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) can be used for refrigeration. In this cooling system domestic LPG can be used because of its low boiling point temperature and high pressure. Liquid petroleum is under high pressure in the cylinder therefore there is no need of compressor and condenser for this cooling system. The principle in this present LPG cooling system is isenthalpic expansion of high pressure LP gas by passing through capillary tube. Smaller internal diameter of capillary tube provides high pressure drop there by phase change of liquid petroleum from liquid to gas due to this temperature of the LPG decreases. Then this low temperature LPG is passed through the evaporator for cooling. This LPG gas can be sent for heating the water by gas geyser or burner for cooking or etc .In this present work experimental analysis of the LPG cooling system is carried out by changing the different diameters of capillary (sizes 36, 44, 55 or 0.036, 0.044, 0.055 inches) and also changing the length of each capillary. The experiment is carried out and test results are compared for each diameter and lengths of the capillary tubes by measuring the pressures at inlet and outlet of capillary tube, temperatures at inside of the evaporator and time required to bring down evaporator temperature from atmospheric temperature to required low temperature. By comparing the above measured values 0.036 diameters, 18 feet length of capillary can reduce evaporator temperature less than 50C within half an hour.

D.Sathya narayana rao , Prof. M.Yohan · M.tech Mechanical Engineering, JNTUA College Of Engineering Anantapuram, India, IN

Abstract The performance of the refrigeration system depends upon the heat transfer capacity of the refrigerant. Normally R12, R22, R600, R600a and 134a are used as a refrigerant. This refrigerant heat transfer capacity is not so good and increase power consumption. Due to these limitations nano fluids are enhanced with the normal lubricant and increase the heat transfer capacity and reduce the power consumption. Copper oxide nano fluid is used for enhancing the heat transfer capacity of the refrigerant in the refrigeration System. In this experiment heat transfer enhancement was investigated numerically on the surface of a refrigerator by using R600a CuO nano-refrigerants, where nano fluids could be a significant factor in maintaining the surface temperature within a required range. The addition of nano particles to the refrigerant results in improvements in the thermo physical properties and heat transfer characteristics of the refrigerant, thereby improving the performance of the refrigeration system. The performance calculation energy consumption ,COP.This paper work will help to analyze the actual performance of the domestic refrigerator and to suggest the eco friendly refrigerant for future domastic refrigerators the power consumption of the refrigerator decreased by the actual cycle.

Krunal Agrawal , Mahesh Chandra · M.Tech Student, Parul University, Vadodara, India, IN

Abstract Concrete is a widely used material in the world. Based on global usage it is placed at second position after water. River sand is one of the constituents used in the production of conventional concrete has become highly expensive and also scare. In the backdrop of such a bleak atmosphere, there is a large demand for alternative materials from industrial waste. Some alternative materials have already been used as a part of natural sand. Similarly the waste glass are collected from the shops are used. The collected glasses are crushed to sand size and it could be used an alternate material for natural sand as partial replacement. In brief, successful utilization of glass as fine aggregate will turn this waste material into a valuable resource. In this research we are going to evaluate the utility of glass powder as a partial replacement of fine aggregate in concrete.

Performance of the various mixes is tested by the compressive strength and flexure strength. A cube specimen of size 150mmX150mm X150mm and beam specimen of size 150mm × 150 mm × 700mm were cast and demoulded after 24 hours then they allowed for normal water curing. The results show improvement in compressive strength in cement replaced mixes.

ENHANCEMENT OF SCREEN CONTENT IMAGES BY JUST NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE MODEL

S.LAKSHMI PRAVALLIKA , K..SRINIVASA RAO · Student, Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering, JNTUA, AP, India, IN

Abstract Now we can observe the rapid development of cloud computing services are influenced by the transmission of screen content images (SCI). While transmitting the images they are going to be compressed to decrease the computational time. The visual quality of screen content images will be reduced at this time. To overcome this we introduce a new just noticeable difference (JND) model for the enhancement of screen content images before transmitting through remote systems. JND model adopts a local parametric edge model to generate edge profile, which is an enhanced screen content image. This parametric edge model predicts the luminance, contrast and sensitivity of an edge profile by making the use of luminance adaptation, contrast masking and structural sensitivity algorithms. By using these parameters proposed model evaluate the visibility threshold. This just noticeable difference model estimates on and near edge pixel transitions. If we see the visual quality of screen content images exhibited by the parametric edge model outperforms the existing JND models.

K. Jagadeesh , Prof. M.L.S. Deva kumar · M.tech ,Mechanical Engineering, JNTUA College Of Engineering, Ananthapuramu, India, IN

Abstract Efforts are being made throughout the world to reduce consumption of liquid petroleum fuels wherever it is possible. Bio-diesel is recently gaining much prominence in a substitute for petroleum based diesel mainly due to environmental considerations and depletion of vital resources like petroleum and coal. The vegetable oils are the promising alternative among the different diesel fuel alternatives. For complete combustion of the fuel in the cylinder the fuel injection parameters play a major role. The major parameters are mainly fuel nozzle holes, fuel droplet size and fuel injection pressure. These parameters can influence the engine performance and emission characteristics of an I.C. engine. In this work, experimental study was carried out tests used a blend of wheat germ oil and diesel in a single cylinder, 4- stroke water cooled light duty injection diesel engine at different injection pressures 175, 185 and 195 Bar. The tests were carried out for pure diesel and blend of 20 % wheat germ oil by volume in diesel at constant speed with varied loads. The performance results at 185 to 195 Bar of blend very nearer to pure diesel results. The emissions UHC, CO and CO2 are very less at 185 Bar compared to pure diesel. The NOx emissions are lesser for blend at 195 Bar than pure diesel. The overall performance is good at 185 and 195 Bar. But the emissions are decreased when increasing injections pressure.

SHAIK ANWAR BASHA , Dr. M. YOHAN · PG Scholar Department of Mechanical Engineering, JNTUA College of Engineering, JNTUA, Ananthapuram, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA, IN

Abstract In remote areas, hilly regions, strategic location, border areas (army deployment), Islands etc. generation of power is scanty if not nil. In these situations a Small Manual Battery Charging Unit would be of great help to provide power supply to battery chargers or battery operated gadgets like mobile phone, communication devices, radio, lamp, fan, TV etc. This product was conceived while studying various means to charge the batteries of an energy efficient lamp. The present design relates to very compact and easily portable power-generating unit, which besides being used as a power generator can also be used as cycle exerciser. The power-generating unit is pedal operated. It serves dual purpose of power generation and helping the person to maintain physical fitness through exercise of muscles of legs and lower torso. The force applied to the pedals gets transmitted to the rotor unit of power generating device through chainsprocket and gear train. The sizes of sprockets and gears are so chosen to achieve suitable rotating speed of the rotor for power generation. The shape and size of rotor is chosen to act as a flywheel and impart suitable moment of inertia. The electrical power so produced can be fed to a rectifier unit and plurality of electrical connectors in the rectifier unit provides electrical power to various electrical devices. As per the suitability of individual user the height of the present design can be adjusted. The design enables hands free operation and simultaneously the user can engage himself in other activities like reading, watching TV etc. The user can relax intermittently without stopping the motion of the rotor unit abruptly.

K. BHASKAR , Dr. M. YOHAN · PG Scholar Department of Mechanical Engineering, JNTUA College of Engineering, JNTUA, Ananthapuram, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA, IN

Abstract A can crusher is a device which is used for squashing food and beverage cans to save space for recycling. The disposal of the used cans compose a problem because the empty cans occupy space. Also the transport of empty cans become difficult. There is a need to crush these cans. So that they occupy smaller space for storage and transport. This will help recycling of the material of the can. It can be placed everywhere in the park, houses. Recycling plays a very important role to save our natural resources. The Present Paper Focus Ondesign the part of a can crusher and to fabricate the can crusher by using solar power. In present days we need more and more power for driving instruments. In these project with drive and pneumatic valve is operated by using solar cell, solar cell generates the power using sunlight energy. A solar cell, a form of a photovoltaic cell is a device that uses the photoelectric effect to generate the electricity from light, thus generating solar power (energy). Most often many cells are linked together to form a solar panel with increased voltage and/or current. Solar cells produce direct current (D.C), which can be use directly, stored in a battery. The cylinder is connected with the reciprocating mechanism. When a cylinder is moved in reverse stroke the can are placed through inlet valve and during forward stroke the can is crushed and passed away through outlet valve. This will leads to continuous operation.

PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT OF PHOTO-VOLTAIC PANEL

Chamala Pramod Kumar Reddy , Dr. K. Hemachandra Reddy · JNTUA College of Engineering, Ananthapuramu, Andhra Pradesh, IN

Abstract A photo-voltaic cell is a device used for the generation of electricity from sun light. The sunlight comprising of both photon energy and thermal energy. The PV cell utilizes only the photon energy to generate electricity. The radiation energy has other effects. It is absorbed by cell. Due to this absorbed radiation the temperature of the cell rises. This elevated temperature affects the conversion efficiency of cell and thus power output is reduced. Though there are other factors like dust, shadow effect, the elevated temperature is of most important factor. High solar cell temperature has always been a major concern as the exceeding operational cell temperature will result in shorter cell life and can also cause permanent cell damage. For this matter both active and passive cooling methods are being used to limit the temperature rise. Passive cooling methods though being less effective are simpler and reliable than active cooling methods. In this study a passive heat sink has been designed using a phase change material (PCM) to improve upon the efficiency of a solar panel. The ability of PCMs to store and release large amounts of heat energy in response to a small temperature change has attracted a great deal of attention in recent years. The phase change material used in this research is Paraffin Wax, which is an organic based PCM.

Water Injection Effects on Performance Characteristics of a CI Engine

N.SHARATH BHUSHAN , Prof. K. HEMACHANDRA REDDY · PG student, department of mechanical engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University College of Engineering and Technology, Anantapur, IN

Abstract All over the world, number of experiments are being carried out to reduce the emissions of the i.c engines. Among them, water injection in inlet manifold is one technique. Experiments will be conducted on four stroke single cylinder water cooled diesel engine with water injection system. Different water quantities will be supplied constantly with air in the intake manifold of the engine. The obtained results will be compared with diesel engine without water injection setup. As a result of the water injection in the form of fine spray droplets exerts positive effects on exhaust emission particularly on NOx missions. Because of the water injection, combined effect of absorbing heat developed by fuel during combustion and increased partial pressure of oxygen puts down the combustion temperature and thus it helps to decrease formation of NOX.

AN ANTI-DROWSINESS ALARM-VIBRATION ARRANGEMENT ON THE STEERING OF A HMV

B. Chennkesavulu , Prof.B. Durga Prasad · M.tech,Mechanical Engineering, JNTUA College of Engineering, Anantapuram, India, IN

Abstract Human lost their life abruptly in the accidents, in which road accidents they strayed life, property and some of were injured, they suffer with that injury for their whole life. Driver Fatigue is one of the most common reasons for fatal road accidents around the world. Fatigue is a general term commonly used to describe the experience of being “sleepy,” “tired,” “drowsy,” or “exhausted.” Accidents caused by drowsy drivers tend to result in serious damage as they are unable to hit the brakes or turn the steering wheel in time to avoid a dangerous situation. Where a driver of a heavy vehicle is often exposed to hours of monotonous driving which causes fatigue without frequent rest period.

Aiming to prevent this type of dangerous driving in this project we are using ignition key, when the person starts the vehicle by using the key, the jammer automatically turns into on condition. And also we are using a touch sensor which is connected to steering because when the person gets into sleep or driver is unconditional to steer, automatically the sensor gets activated then it gives the signal to the vibrator and 60db siren by using Atmel 89S52 microcontroller. LCD display which is connected to the microcontroller is used to display the status of the vehicle.

K. MAMATHA · PG Scholar (DSCE), Dept of ECE, JNTUACEA, Anantapuramu, Andhrapradesh, India, IN

Abstract Wireless networks are computer networks that are not connected by cables of any kind. Wireless network enables to avoid the costly process of introducing cables into buildings or as a connection between different equipment locations. Numerous examination works have concentrated on the security of MANETs. A large portion of them manage avoidance and location ways to deal with battle individual getting out of hand hubs. In such manner, the viability of these methodologies gets to be weak when numerous noxious hubs plot together to start a community oriented assault, which may result to all the more crushing harms to the network. The absence of any framework included with the dynamic topology highlight of MANETs make these systems very powerless against steering assaults, for example, black hole, gray hole, wormhole a hub transmits a malignant show advising that it has the most brief way to the destination, with the objective of capturing messages.

G. Prathap , Dr C. Sahidhar · M.Tech student (Computer Aided Structural Engineering), IN

Abstract Infilled frame structures are commonly used in buildings. Masonry infilled RC frames are the most common type of structures used for multi-storey constructions in developing countries. But these infills are considering as the non-structural members. In the present study an attempt was made to highlight the effect of infill in the earthquake resistance buildings. A square, rectangular and L shaped buildings were considered with 25% openings and with full infill. Pushover analysis was carried out on bare frame, strut frame, strut frame with 25% central openings in X direction, by using computer aided software SAP2000 from which different parameters such as base shear, displacement and performance point were computed. Buildings with infill were observed to have more initial stiffness in elastic state and less drift than bare frame at the end of the analysis. In L shaped building(45m*45m*32m) the infill was placed in the direction of push up to 35m from the exterior end. The displacement observed at the exterior corner point of L shaped building using infill was found to 28% more than the displacement at interior point in bareframe.

PROGRAMMABLE HYDRAULIC STEADY REST FOR CNC LATHE

P. SREENIVASULU , Dr. R RAMACHANDRA · M.Tech, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering.SKD Engineering College, Gooty., IN

Abstract In the present scenario Automation plays a vital role in carrying on the production processes effectively in the production shop. Especially while carrying on machining operations the automation is very much essential .In most of the industries they are facing the problems such as vibration and other effects like deflection on work piece while carrying on machining operations on Axis centered CNC lathe or else on a normal lathe. Good surface finish also will not be obtained when proper support is not given on the slender work piece in performing machining operations.. Hence in order to overcome the problems of deflection and vibration effects on slender work pieces we tend to utilize the Self centering steady rest. The self centering steady rest will be arranged such that it will be placed between the rollers to give support to the work piece. A steady rest is disclosed for alternatively supporting the internal and external surfaces of a tubular work piece during a machining operation. Each outer end of a plurality of movable fingers includes first and second work piece contact devices such as rollers. The second contact device is offset from the longitudinal axis of the finger so that it may engage the inner periphery of the work piece. The opposite inner ends of the outer fingers ride in slots having opposing accurate cam surfaces. One cam surface provides backup support for its finger when externally contacting the work piece while the other cam surface insures stability when its finger is contacting the inner periphery of the work piece. It facilitates clamping activity automatically based on the position of the tool. When the tool reaches the clamp it automatically leaves the space to carry on the machining operations. The input to that device is given by hydraulic pressure. We can say that by means of facilitating the self centering steady rest we can increase the productivity by reducing cycle time, obtain higher accuracy and good surface finish and also overcomes the deflection and vibration problems.
