IOT based Irrigation System for Smart Agriculture

Abstract Human beings depend on the extensive range of agriculture products. As the population is increasing, the demands for agricultural products are also increasing. To fulfill the demands of increasing population modern agriculture crop growing methodologies are used. Here we are presenting the smart agriculture with the use of different sensors installed the field. The sensor will provide us a variety of significant information like soil moisture content, atmospheric temperature, humidity etc. The data from the sensor node is collected by IOT gateways collecting and transmit it to the internet infrastructure. The objective of this project is to present a reliable IOT based irrigation control system. Here automatic agriculture monitoring systems are proposed over manual method as they are energy efficient and minimize the need for tedious manual labor work.

Abstract Although construction is one of the most labour-intensive industries, people management issues are given inadequate attention. Construction industry is deeming to operate by diversify workforce. Hence managing human resource issue deems to be a challenging task. Strategic Human Resource Management approach in cultivating human resource aspect in order to capitalize human resource towards improvement of project team performance and building organizational competitive advantages. On the basis of researcher’s past studies this kind of HRM structure applicable in the construction field is not reported satisfactory. Nonetheless, Project Human Resource Planning and development is an essential portion in managing human resource within a diversifying construction nature. This study carried out in particular to examine the extent of implementation Human Resource Planning and Development in construction project in India and UAE construction industries. Research methodologies will use in this study is to collect the appropriate information is the formal method and basically most convenient method adopted includes questionnaires, interviews and visiting personally to the companies.

Flood Hazard Assessment and Identification of Danger Zones Using GIS

Abstract Climate change is one of the biggest concerns for the world in present time. Climate change can lead to frequent floods in some region. Flood is one of the devastating natural disaster which leads to loss of lives, properties and resources. It causes damage to infrastructure of city which includes buildings, bridges, roads, streets, water supply system and electric grid system. Excess amount of resources is spent to restore the people of affected area and for repair and rehabilitation of infrastructure. The amount to be spent can be reduced if flood hazard maps are available. Flood hazard maps can be prove beneficial to urban planner for future development of city and to disaster management authorities to carry out evacuation of people from flood affected areas in such conditions. The intent of this study is to generate flood hazard maps for a particular city or region by GIS tools and satellite images. This study will demonstrate the potential of GIS in civil engineering and in flood mitigation.

An Electricity Generated Through Roof Ventilator

Abstract This paper develops the roof ventilator by adding single phase synchronous generator for voltage generating. The construction contains low flux density permanent magnet in rotational part and the winding stator install at the ventilator base. When the ventilator rotates, the flux of the permanent magnet rotor part is moving across the air gap and induced the ac. voltage in the single-phase stator winding. After that, the AC. voltage is rectified to DC. voltage and finally charged to the 12V,2A lead-acid battery.

Abstract Parking on ITM Universe campus has long been a difficult proposition Rising student enrolment and the necessary additional faculty and support staff have increased demand for parking. Projected campus population growth will only exacerbate the problem. The increasing number of private vehicles in campus has been inducing detrimental effects on the campus in terms of increase in traffic congestion, lack of park space utilization, damaging vehicles and form long queue on the road, and parking lots facility is very far from the all department so that it is taken more time to reached destination. Parking is an essential requirement of the transportation system. The availability of parking is related to the location and the type of parking spaces followed by infrastructure of these spaces and enforcement of regulations. Parking spaces are required by Students, employees and visitors and the movement of traffic. This Study investigates problems with current parking practices with the parking accumulation in Itmu campus, Vadodara. Definition of project is to provide Parking Facilities in Itmu, Vadodara. Parking Designs are developed as per guidelines.

ANALYSIS OF ROAD ACCIDENTS AND SUGGESTED SAFETY MEASURES

Abstract Road safety becomes a complex and multifaceted problem for the simple reason that transportation and development is becoming more intense and complicated than ever before as the population and economic activities grow in their size. Independent studies by both World Health Organization and World Bank have estimated that about 5, 00,000 people lost their lives and over 15million suffer injuries each year as a result of road accidents. In India the number of accidents and the fatalities has been increasing over the years and accidents per 1000 vehicles are high in India compared to other developed countries in the world. The tendency of accidents to cluster or concentrate at few spots is known as „black spots‟ or „accident spots‟. These spots are considered as prime candidates for improvement/remedial works to enhance road safety. Identification of such locations helps to achieve quick and better cost effective solutions to traffic safety problems. Three such accident prone locations on highways radiating from Pulivendula town are selected and traffic surveys are collected at these accidents prone locations .The accident analysis is carried out for the traffic data collected .The analysis revealed that excess speed, absence of caution boards and not proper maintenance of shoulders at the highway sections are prime causative factors for accidents and these accident prone locations need immediate attention of installation of traffic sign boards and speed limit is to be warranted.

STABILIZATION OF BLACK COTTON SOIL USING GRANITE WASTE

Abstract Black cotton soil is highly expansive soil due to the presence of montmorillonite. Montmorillonite gives high swelling and high shrinkage properties to the soil. It reduces the stability of black cotton soil. The project deals with the stabilization of black cotton soil using granite waste. Stabilization means improving the engineering properties of a soil using admixtures. On specific engineering projects, soil additives may help to enhance soil properties, prepare the ground for shallow foundations, and stabilize slopes. Addition of granite waste is one way of improving the soil. Granite waste is a type of solid waste material that is obtained from granite crushing industries. Disposal of such waste materials creates a lot of problems to the environment and public. Considering the aspect an experimental study was conducted on locally available expansive soil by mixing it with granite waste. This paper presents the variation of index and engineering properties of expansive soil such as liquid limit, plastic limit, plasticity index, compaction characteristics, California bearing ratio when it is mixed with different percentages (0%,10%,20%,30%) of granite waste and the results were found that up to the addition of 10% of granite waste there is an increase in strength properties beyond it is not effective.

Abstract Soil holds different amounts of water based on its texture. The focus of this project lies in finding field capacity and permanent wilting point. The upper limit of water available in the field is called field capacity and the lower limit is called permanent wilting point. To determine plant available moisture storage capacity, these terms are of utmost importance. They play a key role in determining the irrigation practices required for soil with respect to varying properties.

Human Face Detection and Recognition for Smart Attendance System

Abstract Being one of the most successful applications of the image processing, face detection and recognition has a vital role in technical field especially in the field of security purpose. Human face detection and recognition is an important field for verification purpose especially in the case of attendance system. Maintaining the attendance is very important in all the institutes for checking the presence of students. Every institute has its own method in this regard. Some are taking attendance manually using the traditional pen and paper or file based approach. This system is developed for deploying an easy and a secure way of taking down attendance. The system first captures an image of all the students and stores the information into database. The system then stores the image by mapping it  into a face coordinate structure. Next time whenever the registered student enters the premises the system recognizes the student and marks his attendance along with the time. In this project, we come up with a new hardware system for human face detection which makes use of Raspberry Pi. It is a credit-card sized computer with the components mounted on a credit card sized motherboard, running a dedicated version of Linux. It plugs into TV and a keyboard. It is a capable little computer which can be used in electronic devices and for much functionality that a desktop computer can perform. It comes at a very low price.

A Review of Tesla Turbine

Abstract The tesla turbine was invented by Nikola Tesla in 1913, is a non-conventional bladeless turbine which works on the principle of boundary layer. It consist of a number of parallel discs fixed on a shaft with gap between the discs. The fluid is made to flow tangential to the discs inside a casing. Momentum is transferred from to the discs due to viscous and adhesive forces. Not much work has been carried out in the first half of twentieth century but decent amount of published research and study has been done in the latter half. Some papers suggests for modifications while some papers provide explanations for different performances and efficiencies at various parameters. This paper intends to review the principle, working, design modifications and the factors affecting the performance of Tesla turbine.

Critical review of variable Young modulus in springback prediction during bending process

Dimensional inaccuracy is one of the main problems while working with the formed part which is due to springback. Springback is elastically driven event in which deform part change in dimension at the time unloading. So for better dimensional accuracy, springback should be predicted. During forming process many parameter are involving and all parameter should be consider for any metal forming analysis. During metal forming young modulus is one of crucial parameter which is change during forming process. Accurate prediction of springback is only possible when variable young modulus is considering. This paper deals with effect of variable young modulus on springback and its prediction model.

Abstract In the modern world, the technologies are drastically developed, but still the hygiene in our country is under threat. The abstract of this project is to provide clean and hygiene toilets. All the public toilets should be clean and hygiene. In our country, our government has introduced the scheme called “Swachh Bharat” (Clean India). Keeping the toilets clean is the one of the objective of Clean India scheme. My project can be helpful to promote the clean India project. In future, it can play the major role in clean India scheme. In an Existing system, they are concentrated only on detecting the dirt in the toilets. In our proposed system, I have concentrated on keeping clean toilets, monitoring the sweeper’s working activities. It can avoid many diseases. It may create the awareness among people about the Toilet management. Therefore, our project is to use safe and hygienic toilets. The project based on IoT and image-processing concepts using different sensors like smell sensor, IR sensor, sonic sensor, RFID reader. By using these sensors, we can create the smart toilets.

Analysis and Design of Residential Building (g+2) using STAAD Pro

Abstract Structural design is the primary aspect of Civil Engineering. To construct any building, bridges, dams, canals etc., the base is designing. The main objective of our project is analysis and design of residential building (G+2) using STAAD Pro. The present project deals with the analysis of a residential building which consists of 3 Storeys. By using AutoCAD Plan of Building is drawn. After the initialisation of plan, the centre line diagram is drawn. Later it is inserted in STAAD Pro software and frame structure is generated. Then analysis and design of structure has been carried in the STAAD Pro software. In this project the g+2 residential building is analysed for finding shear force, bending moment and deflection for design elements such as beams, columns and slab to develop economical design

Regolith Counterpoise and Diminution of Pavement Thickness Using Rubber Tyre Shreds

Abstract In today’s world, the vehicles are increasing day by day and at the same time more amount of tyres are being wasted going to be land filled and burnt creating a lot of environmental foot print. So we have to reduce the wastage to its minimum value. In this context, we got an idea to use the waste rubber which is shredded in soil as a stabilizing material to increase its index as well as engineering properties of soil. We conducted a number of tests to increase the soil strength by adding rubber tyre shreds. The shredded rubber
size considered in our project is which passes through IS 2.36mm sieve. The tests conducted were Grain Sieve Analysis, Atterberg’s limits i.e., Plastic Limit, Liquid Limit, Standard Proctor Compaction Test and CBR test. The shredded tyre is mixed with various proportions in the soil to increase its CBR value by determining its optimum moisture content.

Addition of coconut fiber improves the Flexural strength of concrete. The experiment was conducted on high strength concrete (M60) with the addition of coconut fiber with 5 different mix proportions 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5% by the weight of cement. The Flexural strength of cured concrete evaluated for 3, 7 and 28 days. Test results indicate that addition of coconut fiber by 1% concrete attains maximum strength. Test results indicate that addition of coconut fiber gradually increases Flexural strengths for 3, 7 and 28days. This results show coconut fiber can be used in construction.

Abstract A Heat Exchanger is a device use for the heat transfer from one fluid to another, whether the fluids are separated by a solid wall so that they never mix or the fluids are directly in contact. To improve the heat transfer characteristic of double pipe heat exchanger, the various fin are installed on the outer surface of the inner tube and the level of turbulence increased and heat transfer characteristic of heat exchanger are increased up to 4 times than the plain tube. In many industries, we are using conventional heat transfer fluid such as water, mineral oil and ethylene glycol. However, the heat transfer efficiency decrease because of their low thermal conductivities. It has been found that the heat transfer rates of these conventional fluid can be increased by suspension of metallic nanoparticles. The suspended metallic nanoparticles can change the heat transfer characteristics of the base fluid.it is observed that there is an enhancement in heat transfer in the range approximately 12% - 16% There are Various Enhancement methods are used to increase performance of heat exchanger such as treated surfaces, rough surfaces etc

There are various conventional techniques are available to remove heavy metal such as absorption, ion exchange, adsorption, coagulation, etc. these conventional techniques are consuming large amount of energy and time. Nowadays membrane separation processes like nanofiltration (NF) and ultrafiltration (UF) are used for removal of heavy metal because their high flexibility, energy saving and simple in construction. Concentration Polarization and membrane fouling are the key initiators to decline the permeate flux in a membrane separation processes. Among all these conventional technique membrane separation process is technically easy to separate heavy metals from wastewater. The Nanofiltration have lower operating pressure and high flow rates, Nanofiltration inexpensive than Reverse Osmosis. Present study discussed for Nanofiltration combine with surfactant and various parameters like pressure, concentration, pH, and cross flow velocity on chromium rejection and permeate flux of the membrane.

The tracking process is done with the help of PS module. There is a fingerprint module used for authentication and monitoring driving routes, tankeropening-closing and change of driver in the vehicle. If anyone tries to drive the water tanker at any place it needs driver authentication. Location and authentication has to match to open the tanker otherwise alert issued to owner of the tanker. If any irregularities or mismatch happens then we can easily find out the root cause and theft by notification message to the water management controller room for the mismatched authentication using GSM Module. The overall process and control is done with the help of Raspberry Pi.

Experimental study on the mechanical behaviour of sintered fly ash aggregate concrete with steel fiber

Abstract Management of industrial waste is one of the most important environmental issues. In India, the generation of electricity is overwhelmingly dependent on combustion of high-ash coal and as a result fly ash is produced in large amount. Hence it is proposed to use the fly ash, an industrial waste product in concrete for partial replacement of coarse aggregate. However, as the concrete is weak in tension, the concrete is reinforced with various fibres. This project investigates about the behaviour of light weight fly ash aggregate concrete reinforced with steel fibres. The light weight fly ash aggregates were replaced for natural coarse aggregate in 0%, 40% and 60% (by weight) and steel fibres were added to the concrete in 0.5% by weight of concrete. Properties of fly ash aggregates were studied and compared with the conventional natural aggregates. Based on IS: 10262-2009, mix design for M30 grade concrete was done and it was arrived as 1:2:2.26. The standard specimens were cast and tested to ascertain the mechanical properties (compressive, tensile and flexural strength) of fly ash aggregate concrete.

Intrinsically Smart Concrete (ISC) is fabricated by adding functional fillers into conventional concrete which improves self-sensing ability without compromising its mechanical properties. The ISC has the potential to achieve sensing as well as a strengthening of structures along with design flexibility. There is a number of methods available to measure the resistivity but predominantly four probe method was used to measure electrical resistivity of ISC. This work is focused on the durability and strength - based quality control of concrete by considering the electrical resistivity.

In this study a comparative seismic analysis of the multi-storey RC building is done with the variation in the base conditions. G+5, G+8 and G+10 building models are analysed with fixed base, natural rubber bearing, lead rubber bearing and high damping rubber bearing. The variation in the seismic zone is also considered for the analysis. Seismic parameter like time period, base shear and interstorey drift ratio are obtained and results are compared.

Abstract The composite materials are extensively used in automotive, aerospace and defence fields due to its high strength to weight ratio. The mechanical properties and machinability of composites not only depend on the volume of reinforcements, but also on the distribution of these reinforcements. Al 5052 alloy has high corrosion resistance; however, its hardness is lower which limits its applications. This project aims at fabricating a composite material using Al 5052 as matrix which has high hardness. Composite material with different proportions of Al2O3 and graphite were fabricated using stir casting process. Samples were prepared using Al 5052 reinforced with Aluminium oxide Al2O3 (2%, 4%) and Graphite (1%) by volume at various melting temperatures of 675°C, 700°C and reinforcement pre-heat temperatures as 250°C and 300°C. Experiments were conducted using Taguchi L4 orthogonal design of experiments.The results show that the incorporation of Al2O3 increases the hardness of the material whereas graphite increases the wear resistance of the material.

Self-Sensing Concrete Using Functional Fillers for Structural Health Monitoring

Abstract Government of India’s philosophy of going green to reduce emission levels, in cities there is a thrust to increase the gas distribution network. With an increase in naturel gas (CNG) vehicles. However, in last few year there are so many gas operated vehicle in automobile industry, manly it consist four wheeler, auto, bus, etc. but very few in two wheeler. It is one type of research gap in two-wheeler. Looking to Indian scenario population is increasing and economy the number of two-wheeler user also increasing very broadly, compare to any other wheeler. Which are major issue to increasing emission, which harm the environment. There for it is required to reduce exhaust emission and economic vehicle operation. To adopt CNG vehicle for current used, it is required new innovative design of gas storage tank, especially for two-wheeler. It also required to investigate enough space and proper location of storage tank for conventional vehicle. In this research, work doing on designing gas tank for two-wheeler with respect to safety aspects. And also protect to gas tank, we used trellis frame structure, which adequate space and safety with batter performance. The modelling is done on SOLID EDGE, and analysis done on ANSYS 16 software.

Abstract In this investigation an experimental approach is carried out to study the flexural strength of conventional concrete with partial to fully replacement of coarse aggregate by light expandable clay aggregate (LECA). With the usage of LECA in concrete, the demand of coarse aggregate is reduced in the design of concrete structures. The light weight concrete gives low density when compared to conventional concrete and possess better insulation properties to heat and sound. The main aim of this project is to understand better about the strength properties particularly compressive strength of cubes and moment carrying capacity of reinforced cement concrete slabs made of light weight concrete against conventional concrete by replacing natural aggregates with LECA by 25%, 50%, 75% and
100% after 28 days of curing.

Design and Fabrication of Microstrip Patch Antenna at 2.4 GHz for WLAN applications

Abstract In this paper, a rectangular microstrip patch antenna is designed using HFSS software. The designed antenna has a resonating frequency of 2.4 GHz which is applicable to Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). This paper shows the design considerations of the proposed antenna as well as the simulated and measured results of the same. The design is made on FR-4 Epoxy material used as a dielectric material with its dielectric constant = 4.4 and thickness of 1.6mm. The simple structured configuration and low profile of the proposed antenna makes the fabrication process easy and also suitable for the application in the WLAN. Gain and Return loss are measured at this frequency.

In this device ,the use of rack and pinion arrangement which give perfect movement to the optical axes on which headlight are mounted so when a tie rod arms are moved with

Many technologies are used for home automation, one of the simplest technique is control and monitor of the home equipment’s by Raspberry Pi and Arduino, limitless equipment can be controlled by this arrangement. Data transfer between Arduino and Raspberry Pi can be done by I2C communication. Command is send from android app to Raspberry Pi using by the internet cloud service. Set of appliances is controlled by Raspberry Pi and Arduino. Many Android/iOS app are used for controlling Raspberry Pi and Arduino, BLYNK app is available on play store for controlling Raspberry Pi and Arduino. Attendance Analysis and Maintenance of Student Information Using QR Code.

Abstract In our day to day life the smart phone plays very major role. In this new world the Smartphone is useful to get easy and instant result of problems. Various app like problem solving app, education and marketing app, social app this app made our life colorful. For solving the problem of the attendance data we used this technology. The projected technology is a pair of two applications, one is for generating attendance list and other is for generating QR code for student and also the QR code of this application contain the two types of details one is student details and second is attendance details in XLS Format. To confirm the attendance of student teacher needs to scan the QR code of that particular student. The proposed application deals with the eliminating the false registration, authenticate the student identity, and also with the management of all student attendance. The student scans the QR code which will be provided by professor for mark the attendance. As per the subject the professor marks the attendance of class student. The report of student attendance generates excel sheet for the future use. In this paper, by using the basic information of student we manage the student record by creating profile of student and update respective profile concurrently. This is an efficient profile management system which reduces the problem of wastage of time and paper.

Therefore engineers have no choice left except to use soft and weak soils around by improving their strength by means of suitable modern ground improvement techniques for construction activities. At present the available ground improvement techniques such as replacement of soil, vertical drains, stone columns, compaction, dynamic compaction, soil reinforcement, piers, in-situ densification, pre-loadings, grouting and stabilization using admixtures. The aim of these techniques is to increase the bearing capacity of soil and reduce the settlement. The soil grouting is most important procedure for the ground improvement. In soil grouting many method such as pressure grouting, jet grouting, chemical grouting, cement grouting etc. Pressure grouting technology has been widely adopted in ground improvement and soil stabilization.

Abstract ThisAssistive Technology (AT) maintains and improves the individual's functioning and independence, thereby promoting their well-being. But today only 1 fom each 10 people in need have access to AT due to high costs and a lack of awareness, availability, personal training, policy and functioning. By 2050, more than 2 billion people will need at least 1 assistive product with many elderly needing 2 or more. Elderly make important contributions to the society. Though some people aged well, other become fail, with a high risk of disease. In this paper, we propose a frst approach related the design of AT device. This uses open source technologies and gives a new choice in taking medication dosages. "The Intelligent PillBox" allows the organization of several medication schedules that health
disorders presented in elderly need basically. Arduino Mega 2560 was taken as the principal controller. This prototype contains; a programmable alarm system with an automatic opening and closing system, an interactive user interface and a notification system through GSM network. The development of this device is focused in the support of elderly people and other vulnerable groups that may need for an assisted care.

Design & Development of Smart Digital Notice Board based on IoT Platform

Abstract Smart Digital Notice board is primary requirement in any institution, organization or public sectors like airport, bus station, railway stations, schools, colleges etc. The traditional method of sticking notices day to day on the notice board is a difficult process. In order to provide a better communication which is easy to use and which is based on the advance technology, the proposed system is IoT based smart digital notice board system is presented here. The whole system is designed using the known as NodeMcu which is also easily connected with the cloud. The designed webpage is used to send the message which will be displayed on to the notice board. The message which is send from the webpage is received by the IoT device. The will push this message on to the remote LCD. To send the message onto the remote LCD, the user have must login to the webpage, type the message which is sent to the remote LCD and publish that message through the submit button. At another side NodeMcu will subscribe the message and push it on the remote LCD.

System works on the Personal Health Information (PHI) of the user. and analysis, which can hardly afford the dynamic health condition fluctuation Healthcare system grant users access to range of health information and medical knowledge. In proposed system I basically created the database of 150 to 200 diseases with their precaution suggestions. System will output the next highly probable disease by narrowing down the number of diseases from the list of diseases according to the related symptoms either entered by the users or captured by the different sensors nodes. Benefit of the system is all the information about disease, precautions and healthcare are store at one place. Unfortunately, delegating both storage and computation to the untreated entity would bring a series of security and privacy issues. Abstract Energy dissipation devices such as Fluid Viscous Dampers have proved quite effective in safeguarding the buildings in the event of an earthquake. This study has shown optimized usage of these devices as regard to total amount of supplemental damping provided in context of multiobjective optimized response control. Base shear and interstorey drifts have been used as important multiple control parameters to implement the optimization strategy for supplemental damping. Amongst several optimization algorithms the genetic algorithm has created its niche over last three decades in every field and is followed in this study. Dynamic analysis is carried out with strong ground motions which have shown excessive damage to buildings in the past and their effect on set of five and ten storey buildings is investigated and presented.

Abstract In the present experimental work, an attempt is made to study Flexural properties of two way slabs with fixed end condition of M20 grade concrete by 100% replacement of natural coarse aggregate by two numbers of light weight aggregate i.e., sintered fly ash aggregate and Light Expandable Clay aggregate (LECA) in equal proportions. It is also proposed to replace 11% weight of cement with three numbers of pozzolanic materials like Silica Fume, Slag and Fly Ash along with varying percentages like 0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5% on 11% of weight of cement with two numbers of Nano materials i.e., Nano Silicon Dioxide (SiO2) and Nano Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3) in equal Proportions after 28 days of curing. It is also proposed to study corresponding cube compressive strength of modified concrete.

Effect of phenol group antioxidant on performance and emission characteristics of variable compression ratio diesel engine fuelled with diesel-palm biodiesel blend

Abstract In conventional CI engine diesel is used as a fuel which provides better power, efficiency and basic specific fuel consumption, but it increases the CO2, CO, HC, SOX and NOx emission. These gases affect the environment and human health. It causes global warming, greenhouse effect and responsible for acid rain too. Diesel is nonrenewable energy resources and increases our dependency for importing fuel on other country. Due to depleting the fossil fuel and increasing effect of environment pollution from this fuel demands an ecofriendly alternative which can be used in diesel engine without any design modification. In this present work, palm-biodiesel and diesel blend B20 (20%palm biodiesel and 80% diesel) was used as alternate fuel. It was observed that compression ignition engine
with B20 emits higher level of NOx emission compared to pure diesel as fuel. Higher level of NOx emission can be reduced by adding phenol group antioxidant in biodiesel and its blend. Experiment has been done by taking palm biodiesel blend B20 at variable compression ratio for 4 stroke diesel engine. Result for performance and emission characteristics were analyzed.

Abstract Solid waste management is becoming an integral part of civilization. With rapid industrialization disposal of waste generated from industries is becoming a problem. Effective utilization of these materials will become a boon for the construction industry. It also mitigates the environmental issues. It is proposed to manufacture cold bonded silica fume aggregates with little amount of cement having density around 1200 kg/m3 which will also serve as light weight aggregate. In the last decade Nanotechnology has been gathering spectacular amount of attention in the field of building materials. The incorporation of Nano sized particles in a small amount to the building materials can influence their properties significantly and it can contribute to the creation of novel and sustainable structures. The strength of concrete can be increased in various ways. Some kind of additives or some innovative materials can be added to increase the strength of concrete. A mix design is done for M20 grade concrete by IS code method. ACC 53 grade cement is used and natural aggregate is fully replaced with cold bonded silica fume aggregates. It is also proposed to replace cement by 11% of its weight with three numbers of pozzolanic materials like silica fume, slag and fly ash in equal proportions along
with varying percentages of Nano aluminum oxide at 0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5 on 11% of cement. Aluminum oxide possesses more pozzolanic action. Because of pozzolanic action, aluminum oxide reacts with free lime during hydration and produces more C-S-H gel. The main aim of this project is to find moment carrying capacity of two way slabs with modified concrete with fixed end condition on all its four sides under UDL along with corresponding cube compressive strength. The concrete made with aluminum oxide gives better results compared to that without aluminum oxide.

In broad manner, it can be referred to any system that monitors and maintains the values of things for a entity or group. Asset management is a process of deploying, operation Asset management principles are used by several agencies as a business tool to model their goals and prioritize their resources for efficient decision making. Management of road assets focuses on bridges, traffic signs, pavement markings, culverts. The development of traffic signs and traffic asset management system is focused in this dissertation work. The objective is met by conducting a visual night time inspection to observe the Retro-reflectivity of a signs. These surveys are conducted at regular night time intervals with minimum vehicle distances and high beam light of vehicle. Some of the traffic signs failed the test
as they were not visible to the driver and some signs needs to be maintained for better visuality. The findings of the study concluded that by making this asset management, a business case the management program can be more effective. In the management study, we have to take manufacture cost of each sign and maintenance cost of the signs. For this we need to replace the some signs and maintenance should be required for some signs.

Using these blend in different proportion result shows that NOx emission increases and stability of fuel is also suffer. NOx emission and stability of biodiesel blends is tried to nullify by selecting phenol group antioxidant with different proportion.

Abstract Industrial development is necessary for economic and social development for any country but due to rapid industrial growth some problems occur like soil resources and water resources contaminated by industrial pollutants and their properties degrade. Now a days soil contamination is a huge issue because due to contamination of soil some basic properties of soil have been changed and it causes a harmful effect on foundations which are supported by the contaminated soil and resulted in structural failure as well as structural damages. In this research comparative study of contaminated and non-contaminated soil had been carried out. Contaminated sample was collected from UPL company which is situated in the region of Jhagadia GIDC and non-contaminated soil sample was collected from Kapalsadi village which is situated nearbyjhagadia GIDC region. Physical properties as well as pH and Phosphorous contents had been found for both of the soil samples.Basicly UPL is a phosphorous based company so it released a large amount of Phosphorous waste.This wastehas beencontaminated with soil and water of nearby are. Soil content large amount of
phosphorous content and results also shows that This contamination also effects on Geotechnical properties of soil and the
properties has been changed.

Effect of different size cerium oxide nanoparticles on performance and emission characteristics of variable compression ratio engine fuelled with diesel-palm biodiesel blends

Abstract An experimental investigation was carried out to evaluate performance and emission characteristics of direct injection, single cylinder, water cooled variable compression ratio diesel engine using cerium oxide nanoadditive of two different particle size dispersed in diesel and palm Biodiesel blends B10 and B20. In first part of experiment CERIA21( cerium oxide of particle diameter in the range of 21-30nm) and CERIA41( cerium oxide of particle diameter in the range of 41-50nm) are blended with diesel and palm biodiesel blends B10 and B20 in dosage of 150 ppm using ultrasonic bath stabilizer at 15 min sonication time. The stability characteristic of prepared fuel blends with CeO2 was find out, The results of which revealed that CERIA21 blended fuel has high stability and less percentage transmittance compared to CERIA41 blended fuels, this is due to better suspension of fuel and less agglomeration for smaller particles. Whole
experiment was carried out using following fuels: neat diesel, B10, B20, B10+CERIA21, B10+CERIA41, B20+CERIA21, B20+CERIA41. The experimental results showed that as biodiesel concentration increased BSFC and brake thermal efficiency decreases. Addition of CeO2 in base fuel improves BTE and reduce BSFC owing to its high surface area to volume ratio, thermal conductivity and oxidation stability. At full load BTE was improved by 3.62%, 2.95%, 3.20% and 2.43% with B10+CERIA21, B10+CERIA41, B20+CERIA21, B20+CERIA41 respectively at higher CR. Highest BTE and lowest BSFC was observed with B10+CERIA21 at 24.68% and 0.3204 kg/kw.hr at full load and
CR16.5. At lower CR fuel injected in colder combustion chamber which provides insufficient heat for compression which ultimately increase BSFC and reduce BTE. Carbon monoxide(CO) and hydrocarbon(HC) emission were reduce with B10 and B20 due to higher oxygen content than diesel, addition of CeO2 further reduces these pollutants. with B10+CERIA21, B10+CERIA41, B20+CERIA21 and B20+CERIA41 CO emission reduced by 38.88%, 22.22%, 56.25% and 37.5% at CR 16.5 whereas HC reduced by 11.76%, 8.25%, 12.65% and 8.86% respectively. NOx increases with B10 and B20 compared to diesel due to high cylinder temperature, CeO2 addition further increases NOx emissions. Highest NOx observed with B20+CERIA41 as 744 ppm. Overall performance with CERIA21 was better than CERIA41.

Comparative Study on Seismic Designed G+15 Story RC building by Using American and Indian Codes

Abstract This paper includes analysis and designs of a G+15 story RC building frame by commercial software Etabs 2016 according to Indian Standards as IS 456-2000, IS 1893(part 1)-2002, IS 875(part 5)1987 and American Standards as ACI 318-14, ASCE7-10. The average required reinforcement steel area for flexural, Shear and Torsion of the beams and columns are compared by the results obtained in both codes with the same plan, sections, materials, seismic characteristic and loads.

This paper emphasizes on behavior of Concrete reinforced with different fibers, properties of fibre reinforced concrete(FRC), its potentiality as a structural material and applicability in construction industry. fiber-reinforcement mechanisms can convert the brittle behavior of cement composite into a pseudo ductile behavior up to a crack width that is acceptable under the structural design point of view
