Management of Building Demolition Waste by Partial Replacement of Coarse Aggregate with Broken Bricks in Concrete and Construction of Road

Abstract Issue related to the scarcity of good and quality of coarse aggregate has kept the construction industries into a crisis in findings an alternative to overcome this situation. The issue is worsening as the current aggregate used in the construction industries are non-renewable aggregates from the quarrying activities. Fast development in the recent years indeed has increased the need of coarse aggregate in the alarming rate. Besides that, the growth of the construction industry has also produced lots of product mainly the waste materials. The high amount of construction waste generated from the construction industries has caused a scarcity of the landfill area. The aim of this study is to determine the suitability of broken bricks as partial replacement of coarse aggregate in concrete production. Furthermore, to investigate the mechanical and physical properties of broken brick used concrete, and to compare the performance of broken brick as partial replacement of coarse aggregate in concrete with the conventional concrete.
In order to fulfil the objective, there are tests that were conducted to determine concrete performance, such as compressive strength test, slump test and impact test. With the different mix proportion in percentages of the broken bricks as coarse aggregate replacement of 10% and 20% in the equivalent strength of grades 25 was done and the results were analysed. From the results, we found that the optimum strength was achieved at 20% brick waste mix proportion and was higher compared with the conventional concrete of grade25.

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF COARSE AND FINE AGGREGATE WITH BROKEN TILES AND POND ASH

Abstract The industrial or constructional waste containing many hazards, inorganic and toxic substances beyond the acceptable limit cause impact to living life. To overcome these issues the waste can be recycled and to reduce the burden on environment also use of alternative is required. This study presents the results of an experimental study on the partial replacement of the fine aggregate and coarse aggregate with pond ash and broken tiles with different combinations of both the materials 10% and 20% in the interval of 5% of fine aggregate and 10% of coarse aggregate in M25 grade of concrete. In this study broken tiles and pond ash are collected from various places for the partial replacement of coarse and fine aggregates. These replacements will reduce the cost of the structure at greater percentage because aggregates are more costly in cement for concrete production. Fine aggregate is the major component of concrete which is naturally available and hence limited in availability percentages of replacements towards compressive strengths, split tensile and flexural strength of concrete and cubes were cast and tested for 7 and 28 days and the test results are compared with the conventional concrete.

VISUAL EXPRESSION OF HUMAN EMOTION DETECTION

Abstract There are numerous ways to express and communicate our emotions. There are two types communication nonverbal and verbal. It has led to concentrate much on computer vision and Machine Learning. It has been done to obtain the emotions of humans. Application Programming Interface (API) can be applied to fetch images from camera based application in real time. HAAR cascade classifier is employed to take out the image features from the images. Support vector machines (SVM) is used to categorize these features into corresponding emotions. And these emotions are changed to corresponding emoji’s and these emoji’s are got placed over the actual face emotion as a mask. This project can be used to analyse different facial emotions that a machine can figure out.

Determination of CBR of Subgrade Soil at field density (Un soaked) and Saturate density (Soaked) condition from DCP Test

Abstract Laboratory CBR test in Un soaked and Soaked condition is time consuming, expensive and indirect representation of filed condition, so there is a need of performing direct monitoring of strength at site for subgrade soil to design flexible Pavement and also for verification of quality of subgrade during construction and also under operation period which demands fast & easy way to verify subgrade strength parameters The present study reflects on experimental investigation on various soils at F.D.D. and FMC by correlating DCP with CBR test results in Un soaked as well as soaked condition at Field density that will helpful to the highway engineer in estimate Un soaked and Soaked CBR value at Field Density from DCP results obtained from site. Hence time will be saved and site condition assessed properly.

ACOUSTIC POWER ANALYSIS FOR NOISE PREDICTION ON ENGINE OUTPUT SHELL USING CFD TO DECREASE THE POWER LEVEL OF ACOUSTIC

Abstract Muffler is a part of exhaust system in I.C Engines which suppress the acoustic pulse generated by the combustion process. A high intensity pressure wave produced by combustion in the engine chamber spreads along the exhaust pipe and transmits from the exhaust pipe end. Exhaust mufflers are intended to decrease sound levels at specific frequencies. New guidelines and principles for noise emissions progressively compel the automotive firms to make some developments about diminishing the engine noise. On the other side, advancements on automobile innovation and expanding rivalry between producers, requires ability of higher sound absorption and lower back pressure mufflers with reduced weight. Lightness could be conceivable if the thickness is diminished or the volume is decreased. Be that as it may, this causes high back pressure. For the most part, muffler design has been an iterative
procedure by trial and error. In the scenario of world market, it is significant for an organization to shorten product development cycle time.

This paper with a analytical way to deal with design, create and approve muffler especially reactive muffler for exhaust system, which will give favourable circumstances over the regular technique with shorten product development cycle time and approval. This paper in like manner emphasis how present-day CAE tools could be utilized for leveraged for optimizing the overall system design adjusting conflicting prerequisites like Noise and acoustic power level.
