COMPARATIVE STUDY ON COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF NORMAL MIX AND LIGNITE COAL FLY-ASH CONCRETE

Abstract Fly ash which is also known as flue-ash, that the residues generated by burning waste materials, and containing the fine particles that produce with the flue gases. Ash which does not rise is termed bottom ash. In an industrial context, fly ash usually refers to ash produced during burning of coal. Fly ash is a waste product which is produced from thermal or coal based power plants. Use of fly ash in the concrete greatly improves many of its properties. Its use reduces hydration of heat, permeability and alkali aggregate reaction, improves workability, increased resistance to sulphate attack and corrosion thus making concrete mass more strong and durable. Besides these advantages, its use also reduces cost of concrete by using required quantity of cement. World over, in many of the developed countries, use of fly ash is one of the essential ingredient of durable concrete. Fly ash is generally captured by electrostatic precipitators or other particle filtration equipment before the flue gases reach the chimneys of coal-fired power plants and together with bottom ash removed from the bottom of the furnace is in this case jointly known as coal ash.

Present study aim is to carryout work on lignite coal fly ash as partial replacement with cement. Prepare normal mix concrete and lignite coal fly ash concrete mix and compare compressive strength of cube and cylindrical mould after 3 days, 14 days and 28 days respectively.

A Review on Use of sea water & Solar power for agricultural purpose in coastal areas

Abstract n Coastal area plants do not grow properly because of the seawater. So to overcome these difficulties, the use of this technique can provide a proper plant growth. The seawater combines a solar desalination system with an environment for cultivating crops in which transpiration is minimized. To provide fresh water we use sunlight, seawater and cooled humid air to supply more sustainable environment condition for cultivation of crops in arid coastal region. This project tries to describe simulation the seawater considering condition of the arid region in district like Kutch (Gujarat) and in many countries like Iran, Oman. With desalination of seawater, it aims to provide sustainable local production of food by combining a growing environment in which water usage is minimized by solar energy. The technique is adapted for farms in arid coastal region that are suffering from salt infected soils and shortages of potable ground water. This technique may produce around 90-95% of total fresh water.

Comparative study of Inverted “V” and “V” type RCC Braced and Steel Braced RCC Frame Structure

Abstract Due to the present increase in world population, people in this world tend to occupy available locations present in any zone which also include zones falling in the high seismic zone categories. The buildings constructed in such zones must be analysed and designed to withstand these earthquakes, along with the cost economy. Bracing systems is very efficient and unyielding lateral load resisting system. Bracing systems serves as one of the component in buildings for increasing stiffness and strength to guard buildings from incidence caused by natural forces like earthquake. Braced frames widen their resistance to lateral forces by the bracing action of inclined members. The braces stimulate forces in the associated beams and columns so that all works like a truss which results in smaller sizes of beam and column sections that turns out to be economical. In this study, G+14 storey building model has been analysed considering “Inverted V” and “V” type RCC bracing system and steel bracing system under seismic loadings using STADD PRO for analysis. Results are concluded by comparison of storey displacement, storey drift and base shear for fixed base building.

Comparison of RCC Braced and Steel “X” Braced RCC Frame Structure

Abstract One of the technologies used to defend buildings from damaging earthquake effects is “Braced Structural System”. The idea behind bracing is to resist the building from the seismic forces in such a way that earthquake motions are not transmitted up through the building, or at least greatly reduced. And also balance the force acting by the wind load. The work undertaken is an attempt to recognize the behaviour of “X” type RCC bracing system and Steel bracing system under lateral loading. A model of G+14 story RCC building has been considered with “X” type RCC and Steel bracing. The RCC building with “X” type RCC and Steel braced system is analysed using static, wind load analysis. The present study will carry out the comparison of different parameters like; storey displacement, storey drift, base shear and cost using commonly available, widely used software STAAD Pro V8i is utilize for analysis.

PROGRESSIVE COLLAPSE ANALYSIS IN RC STRUCTURE DUE TO SERIES OF BLAST LOADING

Abstract Now in the recent time of terrorism, structural engineers require new consideration of terrorist attack in the design standards. Modern day structures pose a unique challenge to designers due to increased terrorist activities. Bomb blasts, vehicular attacks, Arson, Armed based attack all may result into a partial or total collapse of buildings. The work undertaken is an attempt to recognize the behaviour of RC structure under series blast loading. A model of G+4 RC structures has been considered as a progressive collapse analysis. The RC building with effect of series blast loading is analysed by using linear static and dynamic analysis. The present study work will carry out the effective study of different parameters like; different types of explosive charges (5T-5T, 7.5T-7.5T, 10T-10T TNT) at 10 mt. stand-off distance, failure of structure element at storey level and the structure is checked for progressive collapse by using commonly available, widely used software SAP 2000 will utilize for analysis.

The purpose behind to develop this application was to provide Information about KUTCH popular places for tourism, also it provides information about KUTCH Bus Routes, Bus timings and Bus rates, Picnic and history of Kutch places Its also provides image of tourist places and Festivals of Kutch. This application Provide effective Search facility for popular places in Kutch.

This project is divided into two parts one is Admin panel and second one is Tourist panel. In Tourist panel, the user can search the Places or any other information as per requirement and will be provided with correct and timely information. On the other hand Admin panel , is used for the updating Information . So the overall benefits of this application are easy searching of required place in KUTCH with details. And the best thing is that the users can easily make a tour plan for KUTCH with this easy to use application.
