DETECTION, PREVENTION AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS AGAINST GRAY HOLE ATTACK IN MANET

Akshay Mishra , Anand Singh Rajput · M.Tech Scholar, Dept of Electronics & Communication Engineering, AITR, Bhopal, IN

Abstract Wireless ad hoc network is an amassment of mobile nodes & all nodes acquits as a router as well as host. By the cause of scarcity of a centralized management, mobility, threats from compromised nodes inside the network, dynamic topology, mobility, scalability MANET network become more unguarded & unprotected than that of a wired network which has a way more efficient & substantial security. Owing to this factor of foible & debilitated environment, As a MANET network is more susceptible to detrimental attacks & network hijacks committed by an immigrant invader. Therefore getting a security fix becomes remarkably oppressive & incommodious assignment in a MANET. Many different nodes exhibiting in the network fall in with diverse class of security hazards that can potentially divulge out the personal or any vital information of attackers concern & benefit. An intruder can exert & utilize a multitudes of means available at his disposal to name few of them are Gray hole attack, black hole attack, worm hole attack denial of service, Sybil attack, encryption & jamming as implements to gain access to crucial & cryptic information as well as can undermine the network intervened. Grayhole attack is one such kind of a dormant security threat which selectively drops the data packets in the network causing loss or theft of information. This thesis work, contemplate a probabilistic approach with IDS (Intrusion Detection System) which identify and tranquillize the grayhole attack effectively& efficiently. The simulation of the objective & propose approach is done in NS2.34 network simulator. The simulation environment is setup to simulate the algorithm in which an area of 900x900 is taken to transmit the data packets over TCP/FTP, UDP/CBR protocols. For the implementation & application Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol and 802.11 wireless channel models are utilized. This work, mainly & majorly focuses & concentrates on providing better security by consuming less energy & comparative testing, a thorough analysis is performed among the performance metrics such as Throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio and Routing load etc.

Keywords: MANET, AODV, Ad-hoc Network, DSDV, PDR, Gray Hole, Sink Hole, Black Hole, Worm Hole, IDS.

Forensic Study and Review of Some Structural Failures -Case Studies

Mohammad Farhan Shaikh , Raana Pathak, Ankur Pandey · M.Tech Student, Department of Civil Engineering, SVVV University Indore, IN

Abstract Structural failure happens when the material of the structure is stressed to its strength limit which causes extreme deformation and fracture. Structural failure can be prevented by proper design and by studying the causes of past failures. The cause of failures helps to avoid mistakes which led to that type of failure and this mistake helps in further construction. This paper includes case studies and their causes of failures. It includes four case studies of RC and masonry building, In which one case study of truss bridge and one of cold-formed steel structure. All the structures collapse during years 2018-19.

Waste to Energy Technologies for Sustainable MSW Management - An Overview

S. Saravanan , Prashant P Angarakh, P.Bhaskar Rao · Advanced Data Processing Research Institute (ADRIN), Department of Space / ISRO, Secunderabad., IN

Abstract Rapid population growth, Urbanization, Industrial growth is increasing the generation of municipal solid waste (MSW) day by day in developing countries like India. The management of MSW is very severe problem and biggest challenge not only because of environmental and aesthetic concerns but also the potential threat to public health, resulting improper and non-scientific handling of municipal waste due to enormous quantities generated every day. In India the average MSW generation is 450 gm/per capita/day. Inappropriate disposal of waste creates various health effects and pollution in the environment. The preferred Integrated Solid Waste Management System (ISWMS) strategies within the hierarchy includes at-Source Reduction and Reuse, Recycling, Composting, Waste to Energy (WtE) & Landfills. Among these WtE is safe, economical, eco-friendly, minimizes the amount of disposal of MSW, and also accepted socially.

Recovering energy before final disposal of MSW can be achieved through production of heat, electricity, or fuel and WtE technologies viz. Incineration, Pyrolysis (syngas), Gasification, Refuse derived fuel(RDF), fuel in cement kilns/Iron/steel industries, biodiesel, etc. through thermal, biological and chemical processes. Segregation of wastes at source is highly important to make the system more efficient for energy recovery and involvement of all investors and Govt. also in effectively managing MSW to fulfil the objective of zero waste going to landfills. This paper deliberates on how WtE technology is feasible, financially reasonable, environmentally benefit able, analysis of energy generation, revenue from waste, status of WtE plants, issues and challenges of handling waste, separation methods, pollution control, public awareness and selection of suitable disposal technologies ensuring successful integrated MSW management and also consider the future aspects of WtE in India along with a few recommendations for the course of action and for developing better, effective WtE technologies as part of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’.

A Review on Strength Properties of Concrete with Silica Fume, GGBS and Dead Animal’s Bone Aggregates

Vikas Khandelwal , Gulam Moinuddin Neelgar · Department of Civil Engineering, Chandigarh University, Gharuan-140413, Mohali, India, IN

Abstract Nowadays the biggest problem in every Sector is waste material. In every industry the waste are dumped in our near surrounding. It is dangerous for environmental substance like present in biosphere and it covers land day by day. In construction field raw material are too much expensive in India as well as across the world. So, using of waste instead of raw materials like cement, fine aggregate and Coarse aggregate. Replacement of raw material by waste in some specific percentage it decreases the cost of the construction and gives the strength. The waste material used for this investigation are GGBS, Silica fume, Quarry dust and Bone in different percentage 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45% and 50% for cement and 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% for fine aggregate and 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% for coarse aggregate. In this study the review on replacement of the cement, fine aggregate and coarse aggregate with GGBS, Silica Fume, Quarry dust and bones the specimens are prepared for the examiner of various strength of cement concrete.

A Review on Effect of Mass Irregularity and Floating Column on High-Rise Steel Framed Structure

Abhishek Pundir , Vikas Khandelwal · Department of Civil Engineering, Chandigarh University, Gharuan-140413, Mohali, India,, IN

Abstract In modern world, new methods and techniques are being developed by conducting numerous researches every day. Enhancement in structural designing has become an impeccable part of this world. Making structure safe and cost effective is the main objectives of any structural designer. Conventionally, buildings are designed and constructed in a very simple way but now, researchers are focusing on irregular aspects of the structure so that the complex structure can be made while achieving safety and economy. Many researchers have been doing researches on loating column analysing with seismic and wind forces also as it gives a vague idea of column failure. Steel framed structure has become an important part of infrastructures as it provides umpteen benefits over RCC structures. So analysis of such structures under seismic forces and wind forces will play a significant role in advancement of infrastructure design. Therefore, in this paper, the effect of mass irregularity along with the floating column on steel framed structure has been reviewed.
