Abstract Natural sand are weathered and worn out particles of rocks and are of various grades or size depending on the accounting of wearing. The main natural and cheapest resource of sand is river. Now a day’s good sand is not readily available, it should be transported from long distance. Those resources are also exhausting very rapidly. So it is a need of the time to find some substitute to natural river sand. The sand produced by proper machines can be a better substitute to river sand. The sand should be sharp, clean and course. The grains should be of durable material. The grain sizes must be such that it should give minimum voids.

DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF MULTI STOREY STRUCTURE FOR DIFFERENT SHAPES

Abstract Extinct earthquakes events demonstrate that, buildings with irregularity are prone to earthquake damages. Thus as it's essential to identify the unstable response of the structure even in high seismic zones to chop back the seismic damages in buildings. Modern buildings have efficient structural systems, and utilize high-strength materials, resulting in reduced building height, and thus, become more slender and flexible with low damping. These flexible buildings are very sensitive to wind excitation and earthquake load causing discomfort to the building occupants. Reinforced concrete multi storey buildings are subjected to most dangerous earthquakes. It was found that main reason for failure of RC building is irregularity in its plan dimension and its lateral force resisting system. This project aims at studying of the seismic analysis and design on structural behaviour of multi-storey building (G+12) for different plan configurations like Rectangular, C- shape, T-Shape, O-Shape Buildings using ETABS v9.7.1 computer program. A detailed parametric study is carried out to investigate the effect of various parameters on the building structure by non-linear dynamic analysis for medium soil at zone V. Finally the results are observed to study the effect of structural displacements, drifts, story shear, overturning moments. Comparison of the results of non linear dynamic analysis for different structure is done. The whole models were analysed with the help of ETABS 9.7.1 version. Within the gift study, Comparative Dynamic analysis
for all four cases is investigated to gauge the deformation of the structure.

Abstract In this project we are implementing the Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) with an integrated active filter capabilities by utilising Grid Side Converter. In the paper Wind Energy Conversion System which is denoted as the STATCOM is used to supply the harmonics even when wind turbine is in shutdown condition. The grid side converter helps in supplying the harmonics in addition to its slip power transfer. Therefore the rotor-side converter is utilized for gaining the maximum power extraction and to supply the needed amount of reactive power to the DFIG. Control methodologies of both GSC and RSC are explained. Fuzzy logic controller is also used as a control method in this project for the better and accurate performance. By using the MATLAB/ Simulink we can verify the proposed method of the DFIG based wind energy conversion system.

Uncertainties and its Role in Seismic Hazard Analysis of District Headquarter Dantewara, Chhattisgarh, India

Abstract In the present paper, an attempt has been made to estimate seismic hazard at bedrock level in terms of PGA using state of art probabilistic seismic hazard analysis. A detailed catalogue of historical and recent seismicity within 300 km radius around the city has been compiled and new seismotectonic map has been generated for the region. The completeness of the data should be checked before carrying out hazard analysis. Finally earthquake data was analyzed statistically and the seismicity of the region around District Headquarter Dantewara of Chhattisgarh, India, has been evaluated by defining ‗a‘ and ‗b‘ parameters of Gutenberg- Richter recurrence relationship. The Regional Recurrence Relationship and ―b‖ value, 0.6974 is obtained for District Headquarter Dantewara. The Maximum value of Peak Ground Acceleration (P.G.A.) for recurrence period of 100 years was found to be due to the Godavari Valley Fault which came out to be equal to 0.06211 for 50 Percentile and 09887 for 84 Percentile. The seismic hazard curve prepared, for district Headquarter can be furthered used to find out the PGA values for various return periods for different probabilities (2%, 10%, 50% ) of occurrence .

Abstract With the development of cloud computing, outsourcing data to cloud server attracts lots of attentions. To guarantee the safety and achieve flexibly fine-grained file access control, attribute based encryption (ABE) was proposed and used in cloud storage system. However, user revocation is the primary issue in ABE practices. In this article, we provide a ciphertext-policy attribute based encryption (CP-ABE) proposal with efficient user revocation for cloud storage system. The issue of user revocation can be solved efficiently by introducing the concept of user group. When any user leaves, the group manager will update users’ private keys except for those who have been revoked. Additionally, CP-ABE scenario has heavy reckoning sell for, as it grows linearly with the complexity for the access structure. To reduce the estimation lose, we outsource high calculation load to cloud service providers without leaking file content and secret keys. Notably, our strategy can withstand collusion attack performed by revoked users comply real users. Abstract In present day to day life the infrastructure development of structure has been increasing, In construction one of main material is natural fine aggregates, has lead to a decrease of available natural resources, on the other hand a high volume of steel slag production has generated a considerable amount of waste material. Steel slag[2] is generated in a 1600o C (3000o F) furnace, organic, semi-volatile, or volatile compounds are not present in steel slag. Chemically steel slag consists primarily of oxides of calcium, iron, silicon, aluminum, magnesium and manganese in complexes of calcium silicates, aluminosilicates and aluminoferrite (primarily with BOF and EAF slag). These compounds are generally similar to those found in the natural environment.

In this present work the properties of concrete with partial replacement of fine aggregates by steel slag fine form using steel slag waste as a substitute rather than natural fine aggregates along with metakaolin[4], silicafume[3]substitute of cement were studied for M30 grade concrete. The properties of the various ingredients of the concrete and steel slag aggregates were experimentally determined and mix design has been prepared for concrete for various proportions of steel slag aggregates in fine form.

Fresh concrete properties such as workability, air content and density were determined for all the replacement proportions. Mechanical properties such as compressive strength, tensile strength and flexural strength for various replacement proportions of fine aggregates with steel slag fine aggregates were found out and from that optimum replacement proportion was determined separately. The present investigation, 25% fine aggregate replacement by steel slag provide optimum strength.

Although the voltage sag is only for a short duration, sensitive equipments may malfunction.The project aims to compensate the voltage sag with solar power batteries with invertes. At day time solar power PV panel charge the batteries and when ever sag occurs,the voltage is compensated with synchronized inverter in series with the existing transformer.The Series voltage regulator regulates the output voltage by injecting voltage in synchronism with the supply when an upstream sag is detected, thus protecting the loads from voltage sags.It is cost effective customer based solution to regulate the voltage sag which improves voltage quality at load side and can be directly connected to AC power line

Abstract The performance evaluation is one of most important issues in the analysis and design of parallel manipulators. Characteristics such as manipulability and minimum singular value are used to determine the performance of the manipulators. The performance indices are used to eliminate the singularity and it’s near configurations. In this paper 6-UPS spatial parallel manipulator is considered and its performance indices such as condition number, manipulability and minimum singular value are determined for different structures. Based on the performance indices, the optimum configuration of the manipulator is determined. A MATLAB code is developed and used for the analysis. The results are graphically presented. Abstract Microgrid arises at the historic moment. At present, DC microgrid is an effective solution to integrate renewable energy sources which are DC power supply with DC loads. In allusion to the power unbalance intra-microgrid and the wide fluctuation of DC bus voltage due to unstable output of DC micro resources in DC microgrid, A DC microgrid structure consisting of photovoltaic generation system, hybrid energy storage systems and AC main grid, is researched in this paper. A novel power management strategy for this DC microgrid is proposed. The control strategy divides the DC bus voltage into seven ranges by six critical voltage values which are employed as the represents of power states, and according to the range which the bus voltage belongs to, the operation mode of the system can be automatically judged and switched freely. A hybrid energy storage system in this microgrid that contains two complementary type storage element battery and super-capacitor, can enhance the reliability and flexibility of the system based on their special supply logical. Experimental results show that above-mentioned control strategy is feasible through the MATLAB-SIMULINK simulation platform.

Abstract In the environmental, the waste material is available on the resources with an important consumption and growing need for aggregates, The granite production and high volume of quartz stone material is generated as a amount of waste material, Almost 65% of this waste material gets wasted on the processing and polishing stages which have a serious impact on the environment. And the granite slurry is also an production waste. So it has become these wastes particularly in the manufacture of concrete products for construction purposes. The objective of these study to possibility of using quartz stone material as a substitute rather than natural aggregates along with waste granite slurry powder as substitute of cement. This experimental study was carried out an two series of concrete mixes, gravel substitution mixture and mixture of cement and gravel substitution. The concrete foundations were produced with constant water/cement ratio. The results obtains that the strength characteristics of concrete specimens produced using quartz stone mixing up with the granite slurry powder and cement replacement with the granite slurry powder were found to conform with concrete production standards and substitution of natural aggregates by waste quartz stone and granite slurry up to 20% and 10% respectively along with submission of cement by granite waste slurry powder up to 10% of any formulation for concrete. The results obtained show that the strength characteristics of concrete specimens produced using quartz stone, Quartz stone aggregate along with granite waste slurry powder were found to conform with concrete production standards and substitution of natural aggregates by quartz stone aggregates up to 20% along with submission of cement by granite waste slurry powder
up to 10% of any formulation is beneficial for concrete.

Abstract This project deals with automating the current “flow calibration method” which is used in many industries that requires more human effort. The device that must be calibrated by automation is a glass tube rotameter. The glass tube rotameter is a variable aperture flowmeter designed to give a visual indication of flow of wide range of liquid and gases.

This device currently used in industries uses a float inside the glass tube which moves to and fro along the axis of the glass tube. The to and fro motion along the axis is according to the flow of the fluid in the glass tube. Automatic recognition of float, automatic signal acquisition and processing is achieved.

Flow sensors, the devices that detect and measure water flowing through pipes. G1/2 Hall Effect water flow sensor is used as a sensing unit with a turbine rotor inside it whose speed of rotation changes with the different rate of flow of water. The Hall Effect sensor outputs the corresponding pulse train for frequency input to the microcontroller. The whole system comprises of AT89S52 microcontroller, G1/2 Hall Effect water flow sensor, relay, optocoupler, a water pump, 5V supply, LCD, keypad and some passive components. The AT89S52 microcontroller is programmed in Keil development Tool.

Experiments are conducted to see how flowmeters can be calibrated with reduces human effort. It is shown by the result of experiments that automatic recognition of float, automatic signal acquisition and processing are to be achieved. It is to meet the industrial field demand of float flowmeter automatic calibration.

Then to compute the optimal dimensional tolerances from the given robust dimensions a new tolerance synthesis method developed by Stephane Caro is used .This method is known as Caro-Tolerance box method. the optimal dimensional tolerances are calculated by optimal dimensional algorithm.The values of robustness index and optimal dimensional tolerances are validated.

Waste like bottle, etc. Floating in drain is lifted by teeth which are connected to chain. This chain is attached by gears driven by motor. The energy provided to motor is solar photovoltaic cell connected to it. When motor runs the chain starts to circulate making teeth to lift up. The waste materials are lifted by teeth and are stored in waste storage tank. It is very dangerous to the people who working for drainage cleaning because of in the drainage having most of solid metals waste like Blades, Waste Medical injections, Home waste, etc., these are settled under the water because density of this metals is very high as compared to the water. These metals waste is harmful to the people so this proposed system eliminates these problems.

Abstract This work deals with producing aluminum based Metal Matrix Composite and then observing its microstructure and mechanical properties such as tensile strength, impact strength and Hardness of produced test specimen. In the present observation a modest attempt has been made to develop aluminum based MMCs with reinforcing material as SiC, with an objective to develop a conventional low cast method of producing MMCs and to obtain homogeneous dispersion of reinforced material. To achieve those properties the stir casting technique has been adopted. Aluminum and SiC, Fly Ash has been chosen as matrix and reinforcingmaterial respectively. Experiment has been conducted by varying weight fraction of SiC (2%, 4%, &6%) and fly ash (5g,10g,15g) respectively. The result shown that the increase in addition of SiC at different weight fractions increases the Tensile Strength, Impact Strength, Hardness of the specimen.

OPTIMIZATION AND DESIGN OF BLADE SHAPES FOR WIND TURBINE ROTORS

Abstract This project consists of designing, and testing the performance of a Savonius Vertical Wind Turbine. The project comparesthe performance oftwo designs: a classic barrel Savonius design, and the innovative design of Ice wind, an Icelandic startup that makes Vertical Axis WindTurbines(VAWTs). In order to do so, first a literature review is carried out to understand the theory behind wind turbines and to understand the different types and characteristics of VAWT.

A Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool is then used to make a basic barrel Savonius rotor. Then, the Icewind design is reverse engineered from promotional material available on the company’s website. Computer simulations, both 2D and 3D, are run to understand the characteristics of a Savonius rotor, and to obtain its pressure profile when subjected to a wind flow. A physical model of both designs is built to physically test and compare the performance of the two designs under different conditions. Finally, a consumer behavior study is conducted to learn about the design’s appeal to the public. From the different steps, we concluded thatIcewind does show a better performance on all fronts. Not only is it more efficient –for the same cost-, but it is more accepted by the public.

Efficient use of Bandwidth by WDM-OFDM-PON Based on Compatible SSB Technique

Abstract Increasing demand of bandwidth can be reached by employing WDM-OFDM-PON for downstream transmission, based on a tunable mode locked comb source. The WDM-OFDM-PON based on compatible SSB technique provides the required bandwidth for downstream transmission. The 12.75 Gbps compatible SSB OFDM signal is used to modulate 10 comb tones separated by 10 GHz. A spectral efficiency of 1.275 bps/Hz was achieved in conjunction with the use of low complexity electronics. Transmission over 50 km and 87 km of standard single mode fibre was successfully demonstrated. The bit error rate for transmission over 50km fibre optic cable can be reduced to a maximum extent. The transmission over the channels after 87km achieved performance below the 20% FEC limit.

Abstract One of the main objectives of this research was to develop preliminary specifications for high quality pervious concrete suitable for use in Telangana State Highway Administration (SHA) projects. The study utilized aggregates that are used in SHA projects, and the durability studies were conducted assuming Telangana weather conditions. Investigations were conducted to enhance the structural and durability characteristics of pervious concrete through the use of different admixtures. The admixtures included cellulose fibers, a delayed set modifier and a viscosity modifier. Pervious concrete specimens were tested for density, void content, compressive strength, split tensile strength, permeability, freeze-thaw durability, and abrasion resistance. Three different types of freeze-thaw durability tests were conducted to mimic potential field conditions, typical toTelangana, and including the possibility of clogged pavements. The freeze-thaw durability tests included: fully saturated tests, 50% saturated tests, and 0% saturated dry hard freeze tests.

The study found that of the different admixtures tested, cellulose fibers had the largest impact in improving durability. Including cellulose fibers in the pervious concrete mix resulted in significant increases in resistance in all three freeze-thaw durability tests. It also resulted in significant increases in abrasion resistance. By bridging the gap between the coarse aggregates, the cellulose fibers bound the pervious concrete mixture with an interwoven matrix of fibers. This also improved the tensile strength of the pervious concrete. The delayed set modifier resulted in a more fluid mix and large gains in compressive strength at seven and fourteen days.
This admixture may inhibit some of the cement from setting around aggregates and may result in some cement settling to the bottom and forming a less pervious layer. The viscosity modifying admixture created a more workable and easier to mold mix. Its effect on strength and durability were minimal.

However, alkylated thiophenes (sulphur containing compounds) are difficult to remove from fuel oil by present hydrodesulphurization process. Therefore, extensive development work has been carried out in the field of Biodesulphurization process for removal of alkylated thiophenes (sulphur containing compounds found in diesel) from diesel and heavy fuel oil by using desulphurization enzymes produced by selected bacterial strain. This paper reviews few of the work on biodesulphurization process for removal of sulphur from fuel oil.

Study on Wire-EDM Taper Cutting Process: A Review

Abstract Wire-electro discharge machining (WEDM) has become an important non-traditional machining process, as it provides an effective solution for producing components made of difficult-to-machine materials like titanium, zirconium, etc., and intricate shapes, which are not possible by conventional machining methods. Taper-cutting is one of the most important application of wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) process used for producing precise complex geometries with inclined surfaces in hard material parts. The wire is subjected to deformation during taper cutting operation leading to deviations in the angular dimensions and loss of tolerances in machined parts. As a result, the machined part losses its precision. Most of the work is done on straight cutting but some researchers have explored a number of ways to improve the accuracy of taper cutting process. The paper reports a review on the research relating to WEDM taper cutting process for improving and optimizing performance measures and reducing time and cost of manufacturing. The literature survey has revealed that a limited research has been conducted to obtain the optimal levels of machining parameters that yield the best machining quality in WEDM taper cutting process in machining of difficult to machine materials.
