ESTIMATION OF COD IN DAIRY WASTEWATER USING ELECTROCOAGULATION MECHANISM

Abstract The removal of COD from dairywastewater was experimentally investigated using direct current electrocoagulation (EC). In the EC of dairywastewater, the effects of initial pH, electrolysis time, voltage and different electrodes were examined. The optimum operating range for each operating variable was experimentally determined. The greatest removal efficiency was obtained with the use of aluminium as anode and iron as cathode (Al–Fe system). The batch of experimental results revealed that COD is effectively removed. An efficient algorithm is developed and coded in MATLAB to calculate the corresponding COD for given input (pH, time, voltage).

Abstract Marketing is one of the most important factors in determining the success of any product farming enterprise. Deter-mining the most marketable crops for production to deciding how to best deliver quality produce to the consumers at a profit. Terminal markets are assembly and distribution centers located in popular areas. They encounter problems in meeting volume, timing, containers, delivery schedules, marketing experience and product quality. Although terminal market buyers do some business with small firms, many have tended to bypass these firms in favor of large producers located in established product producing areas. Prices are based on current retail market prices, so they can fluctuate widely over time. Producers must provide transportation to the terminal market for their produce. Producers must deliver produce to terminal markets in relatively large quantities. So the existing problems are solved by Current market information is usually available at terminal markets. Prices should be comfort for both producers and buyers . Growers have opportunities to contact many potential buyers. Growers may sell large quantities fairly quickly. Finally the effective communication will be made between former and consumer.

Proposal Of Nanotechnology In Flexible Pavement Construction For Waterlogging Area

Abstract We know that waterlogging damages the pavement heavily. Use of Nanotechnology nano silane and acrylic co-polymer in waterlogging area to make soil water proof, results in increment of CBR under wet condition and reduces the damages and can control capillary rise of water, too. The other benefits achieved are likely negligible maintenance and increase in overall life span of road. As the thickness of pavement decreases, material requirement reduces ultimately which is an added advantage. Zycosile is added in dense bituminous macadam and semi dance bituminous carpet it can feel all the voides so water can’t get penetrated in pavement. This paper discusses the recent developments in use of nanotechnology in pavement construction.

Design and Development of Rice Planting Machine

Abstract India is an agrarian country. About 70% of Indians are dependent on agriculture for their livelihood. India is one of the world's largest producers of rice, accounting for 20% of all world rice production. Rice is usually grown by planting rice paddy in the fields manually with hands. With this method of planting rice paddy, labour cost increases and it is a very time consuming process. These problems can be solved with the help of rice planting machine. This machine reduces labour cost and time to plant rice paddy. This machine has a simple mechanism and it is eco-friendly. This machine requires only one person for its operation. This machine can bring revolution in rice production. So, the main aim of this to design and develop a rice planting machine which will help the farmers to make the whole rice planting process mechanical resulting in reduction of labour, cost and time to a large extend.

Neutralization of carbon particles in boiler chimney using high voltage dc

Abstract This paper is designed to develop High Voltage dc around 4kv from supply source of 230 V AC using capacitors and diodes in Karl Marx circuit. The design of the circuit involves voltage multiplier; whose principle is to go on doubling the voltage for each stage. The output from a 16 stage voltage multiplier can generate up to 4KV. The output from this circuit is used to separate carbon and oxygen from its molecule compound from co2, which was being emitted to atmosphere through Chimney.

Abstract Pollution is nowadays a very critical these days. Due to pollution, the external glass walls of the building get dirty. To clean them with human support is very dangerous job. To eliminate this, fully automatic external glass wall cleaning machine design is proposed. The cleaning unit contains of wiper blade and water spray. This cleaning unit is guided with the help of hollow cylindrical shaft. It is controlled with the help of rope drive suspended from the top of the building which controls the linear motion. This whole unit is mounted on rails on the top of the building which helps in transverse motion. This whole unit will be controlled by a controller which makes the whole machine automatic.

Abstract Event Calendar is an online event information system software project that serves the functionality of an event manager. This system allows only registered users/public to login and new users are allowed to register on the application. It allows the user to select from a list of event types. Once the user enters an event type e.g. (entertainment, sports, dance, etc.), the system then allows the user to select/subscribe the event. The admin has control for this web application. Every event has been added by the admin with the detailed information. The events may be public events like dance program, technical events and so on. When the event has been posted, the alert mail is sent for the particular subscribed users. Our application is a platform to know the events, to apply for the events, to filter applications, to send Mail alert automatically regarding event details to the users depending on their interest. The users can register, then users can login and can view the event details including name of the fest, logo, address, venue, date, cost of events to participate etc. This web application is very efficient to store, maintain and retrieve data from its database and can be used for further analysis.

Fracture Properties of Self Compacting Concrete with Steel Fibers using Notched Beam

Abstract Recent years, self-compacting concrete (SCC) has gained wide use for placement in reinforced concrete structures with difficult casting conditions. For such applications, the fresh concrete must possess high fluidity and good cohesiveness.

Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a highly-workable concrete that fills the formwork under its own weight without any vibration or impact. Fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) is a concrete in which small and discontinuous fibers are dispersed uniformly. The addition of fibers into concrete mass can dramatically change properties of concrete. This work examines the effect fibers addition on rheological properties, mechanical properties and fracture energy of self compacting concrete. Rheological properties like J Ring, U Box, L Box were determined as per EFNARC standards. Mechanical characteristics like compressive strength and flexural strength obtained as per IS 516 on standard specimen size. Fracture energy (GF) measured using the three-point bending test on pre-notched beams prescribed by RILEM recommendations.

The result shows that workability of SCC decrease with addition of fibers but ductility and fracture energy increase with addition of fibers in pain self compacting concrete.

Because of its non-polluting and economically variable nature, wind energy is considered one of the most important and promising source of renewable energy all over the world. In this paper the STATCOM is used to quickly sense the voltage sag and overcome it. The STATCOM control scheme for the grid connected wind energy. generation system for power quality improvement is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK in power system block set.DFIG consist of common induction generator with slip ring partial scale power converter. In this paper presents the total concept is controlling the grid side converter by using STATCOM with fuzzy. thestatcom controller is activated under fault condition and de-activated under normal condition. The method of a three phase grid system with different fault condition is simulated by using MATLAB.

Symmetric, Asymmetric vibration mode shapes and determination of bending frequencies on windmill blades using free vibration analysis

Abstract Wind mill is one of the most leading alternatives in the present energy production, where the energy of wind is converted into the mechanical energy by means of vanes called sails or blades. Force that acts on the surface of the blade is due to flow of the wind, which in turn causes vibration. This vibration, when matches with the natural frequency will produce high stresses. The materials of the blades play a prominent role in this scenario. The Light weight galvanized steel or aluminium is currently used in the outer shell of the blade. World Energy Council (WEC) projected that; this may be replaced by thermoplastic foam. In this paper the effects of vibration on these materials were studied and natural frequencies were found out, there by finding the frequencies at which the plates in the blades should not be exposed and the frequencies at which bending should be considered. Using this conditions the minimum amount of damper or stiffness addition needed for resonance avoidance can be calculated for a plate there by calculating for a whole blade. This leads to the most optimised safest design for wind mill blade. 3D Modelling is done and is been analysed using FEA.

In this paper, different text summarization methods are introduced in a single document. The advantages and drawbacks of the summarized methods have also been discussed.

Three-Phase Grid Connected ZCT Inverter integrated photovoltaic system

Abstract When ac loads are fed through invertersit required that the output voltage of desired magnitude and frequency be achieved. Low leakage current and high efficiency are two key two key indexes for transformer less PV grid connected inverter. The transformer less inverter topologies have superior efficiency thanks to saving transformer, but their semiconductor devices are still on hard switching state at present. A variable output voltage can be obtained by varying the input dc voltage and maintaining the gain of the inverter constant. On the other hand, if the dc input voltage is fixed and it is not controllable, a variable output voltage can be obtained by varying the gain of the inverter, which is normally accomplished by pulse-width-modulation (PWM) control within the inverter. First and foremost, a novel zero current-transition (ZCT) conceptsfor the threephase full-bridge transformerless PV gridconnected inverters are presented in this paper. Second, the zero-current turn-off for high frequency main switches of the inverters and the zero current J.Siva Naik M.Hussen Assistant Professor Dept of EEE Collage: NETW Assistant Professor Dept of EEE College: NETW Turn-on for auxiliary switches added are achieved by introducing two resonant tanks. CONTROL STRATEGY OFDFIG GRID SIDE FAULT BY USING DVR CONTROL AND FUZZY CONTROLLER

Abstract In this paper a detailed electromechanical model of a DFIG ( double fed induction generator) based wind turbine connected to power system grid is development in the MATLAB/SIMULINK , the DFIG based on the DVR controller ( dynamic voltage restorer) is used for the consumer protection from the grid side voltage fluctuations like voltage sag and voltage swell i.e long duration voltage and short duration voltage. The DVR is used to maintained the voltage levels during the fault condition. The primary aim of DVR is to inject the voltage in series to the stator side. This drawbacks are overcome by proposed this methodology. In this paper coordinated control strategy of DVR controller and fuzzy controller circuits are proposed by using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

Abstract This project paper is of Thermal power plants controlling by plc ladder logic and synchronizing of different units of a plant . Thermal power plant consist of many important equipment such as boiler ,coal conveyer belt ,ash handling plant ,cooling system etc which are required for the generation of power. These equipment requires continuous inspection and monitoring .this paper outlines the automation of boiler &coal conveyer Automation leads to greater efficiency &reliability .The automation is achieved by using PLC .Analysis of thermal power plant is achieved with help of MATLAB simulation. Different sensors are used for measuring the temperature of boiler ,coal input and turbine action for generation ,these sensors sent required data by continuous monitoring to plc controlling program. In this project we outlining ease of controlling and synchronizing the thermal plant by ladder logic programming using plc for a plant and power analyzing of different unit of plant by using matlab simulation.

Abstract Renewable energy based distributed generation plays an important role in electricity production. By using two renewable distributed generations todevelop power system. Short circuit problem is one of the most important and complex task in electric power engineering. The study and detection of these faults is necessary to ensure that the power system is reliable and stable. Inthis paper will examine the power flow analysis and behavior of a system under fault conditions and evaluates deferent types of faults of a simple 5-bus 2-generator 4-load power system using the power world simulator.

EFFECT OF PROCESS PARAMETERS OF FRICTION STIR PROCESSING ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES – A REVIEW

Abstract Friction stir processing (FSP) was originally developed for aluminium alloys based on the basic principles of friction stir welding (FSW), a solid-state joining process, is an emerging metal working technique that can provide localized modification and control of microstructures in near-surface layers of processed metallic components. The FSP causes intense plastic deformation, material mixing, and thermal exposure, resulting in significant microstructural refinement, densification, and homogeneity of the processed zone. The FSP technique has been successfully used for producing the fine-grained structure and surface composite, modifying the microstructure of materials so FSPed areas are superior in strength and also have superior formability compared to parent material. This processing also helps to convert a heterogeneous microstructure to a more homogeneous and refined microstructure.

In this review paper survey the literature on FSP, the current state of the understanding and development of FSP effect on mechanical properties is addressed. Differences between effect of FSP parameters on different conditions and their result are addressed.

DETECTION OF CROWD WITH HELP OF GPS AND ACCELEROMETER USING PARTICIPATORY SENSING

Abstract In this paper, we have detected crowd with help of the most commonly found sensor in people mobile phones and that is Accelerometer. This is possible because we are using participatory sensing technique. Participatory sensing allows people to participate in collecting data. First, we will define different travel mode and specifically defining it within two mode, that wheel and non-wheel. Non-wheel data are localized with help of GPS that will help detecting crowd. Once the Data collection process is completed, analysis of data will be done by data mining techniques in data mining softwares WEKA and MATLAB. This research is basically focusing on detecting random and unexpected crowd on road that could somehow interrupt daily travelling people and may create obstacle for traffic system in management.

Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Flexible Pavement (Kosmadi Patia to Sevni village, Kamrej, Surat)

Abstract In India, flexible pavements with bituminous surfaces are widely used. Due to increased traffic intensity of roads, overloading of commercial vehicles and temperature variation of pavements due to climatic changes leads to formation of various distresses like rutting, shoving, bleeding, cracking and potholing of bituminous surfacing. Due to high temperature, bitumen becomes very soft in summer and brittle in winter. Also, in a developing country like India, roadway construction is taking place at a very high pace which require large demand of construction material that too eco-friendly and economical. Several Studies have revealed that properties of bitumen and bituminous mixes can be improved/ modified with addition of certain additives and the bitumen premixed with these additives/modifiers is known as “modified bitumen”. The present study aims for use of modified bitumen by using plastic waste for road construction. The paper includes details of methodology of using modifiers in bitumen and aims to provide highway construction in a eco-friendly and economical way. The modified bitumen mix shows better binding property, stability, density and more resistant to water.

Abstract PEB is one of fastest emerging industry in world. By adapting the use of PEB Structure compared to CSB structure results many advantages. In this paper, CSB (Conventional steel building) & PEB (Pre engineered steel building) were designed as per IS 800:2007. Here, we have considered 5 different types of plan area. Models were being analysed in STAAD-pro. After analyzing the results of PEB & CSB Structure, the PEB Structure is lighter than CSB structure. Also the governing lateral force found in the model is seismic.

Abstract In this paper, the authors present an overview for modeling of solid oxide fuel cells. Even though, a large amount of literature of sofc’s has been published in the last decade, most of them has focused on electro chemical characteristics.

To determine the fault diagnosis in power generation systems by using solid oxide fuel cells. We propose the use of quantitative model for such a plant with a support vector machine(SVM) to detect and to classify possible faults. Solid oxide fuel cells(SOFC’s) are the future of the energy .In addition, the relative importance of the easy to measure residuals which are used as feature in the SVM classificationprocess,are discussed based on an advanced feature selection technique.

Photovoltaic Cell as Power Quality conditioner for Grid connected system by using PI Controller

Abstract The paper deals with the simulation study of PV cells as well as power quality conditioner for voltage sags. A computer simulation derived study of photovoltaic cells or modules utilizing MATLAB is demonstrated. The MATLAB is an analog simulator or digital simulator which estimates voltage and current in a circuit under a variety of distinctive situations. This MATLAB is used to simulate a circuit based model for PV cells or modules and then to conduct a behavioral analysis under altering conditions of solar insolation, including blending effect, temperature, diode model variables, series and shunt resistance. In future the supporting services provided by PV system could speed up their penetration in to power systems. Furthermore low power PV systems can be used effectively to enhance the power quality using MPPT algorithm. This paper presents a single -phase voltaic system that furnishes grid voltage support and compensation of harmonic distortion at the point of common coupling (PCC). Simulation results validate the proposed solution.

IMPACT OF ENERGY STROAGE ON HYBRID AC-DC MICRO- GRIDDURING PULSE LOAD

Abstract Renewable energy based distributed generation plays an important role in electricity production. Electricity is consumed at the same time as it is generated. In this paper ,a hybrid AC-DC micro-grid is considered in islanding mode with solar energy; energy storage is proposed for integration of a pulse load. A synchronous generated is used to connect to the AC side. The AC and DC sides are linked through a bidirectional AC-DC inverter in order to control the power flow between AC and DC sides of the system. When a pulsed load is connected or disconnected on the AC side , the AC side voltage and frequency are maintained with in limits by the support of energy storage on DC . Simulation results show that the proposed micro-grid with control algorithms has maintained a balanced current and voltage profile there by improving the system reliability and stability.

Abstract The demand of electrical energy is increasing day by day .so there is is a need of increasing the efficient management of power generation ,transmission, distribution of electrical energy, due to the A renewable energy under push to reach grid parity without additional subsidies and favorable policies while cost and reliability are major cancers for both pv panels and pv inverters comparable or exceeded grid function an a power become competitive to conversion generation technologies in the goal of this paper to grow the industry and academic in new technology challenges in to smart pv inverters in addition to the “dolor per watts” to the overall system cost target .low leakage current and high efficiency are two key indexes for transformer less pv grid connected inverters. The transformer less inverter topologies Solar cells produce direct current electricity from sun light which can be used to power equipment or to recharge a battery . The first practical application of photovoltaic was to power orbiting satellites and other spacecraft , but todaythe majority of photovoltaic modules are used for grid connected power generation. In this case an inverter is required to convert the DC to AC. There is a smaller market for off-grid power for remote have superior efficiency thanks to saving transformer but there semiconductor devices still hardswitching stated present .A family of ZCT transformer less inverterwithsinusoidal PWM modulation is deduced by using fuzzy logic controller .

Applications Of PV Module With Boost Converter By Using MPPT Algorithm

Abstract This paper presents the performance of a converter topology for PV array. Photovoltaic (PV) Modules are used to generate electricity from light.The system containing solar cell, DC-DC boost converter. When sunlight falls on the PV modules, it converts sunlight in to DC electricity. So, solar cells are interconnected in a series-parallel combination to achieve the desired power.It is a one of the renewable energy. The PV based systems are employed in stand-alone applications such as street lighting, water pumping and also accommodated in grid connected systems. The PV based systems have no wear and tear which results in less maintenance. This paper presents t6he simulation of a photovoltaic system using MATLAB. It is used to reduce voltage ripple.

Abstract The evaluation of a functional behavior or performance analysis, information is needed on the history of riding quality of the pavement stretch. In condition survey, pavement surface condition is measured and which types of the distress is observed. For the subgrade evaluation soil sample is taken at required locations on road stretch. In the structural evaluation of flexible pavement the pavement deflection is measured by the Benkelman Beam. It is possible to measure the rebound and residual deflections of the pavement structure. While the rebound deflection is one related to pavement performance, the residual deflection may be due to non-recoverable deflection of the pavement or because of the influence of the deflection bowl on the front legs of the beam. Rebound deflection is used for overlay design. A detailed pavement condition survey is done on State Highway 177 (Vyara Junction to Anumala Junction) and the road condition is evaluated structurally. The present study is evaluates the overlay thickness for State Highway 177 Vyara Junction to Anumala Junction.

Abstract This paper presents an application of power world simulator for high quality electrical energy to the consumer in a secure & economic manner to provide optimal power to the consumer by using power flow analysis. The electric utilities face many problems in operation, planning & control of electric energy. Some of the important constraints are voltage security, environmental constraints with the consideration of these constraints the quality power will be supplied to the consumer with minimum pollution level and faults also occured in the power system due to the transients present in the power system. The faults in the generator , transmission line ,whatever may be the equipment can be cleared by using Contingency Analysis . Same circuit is designed in MAT LAB analysis to determine the real and reactive powers values and voltage and current wave forms for each bus. The difference of power values obtained from power world and mat lab analysis have slight different. The power obtained from the power world is accurate and easy to understand also. So POWER WORLD is most convenient & accurate method to obtain the power flow analysis than mat lab.

The paper considers colored pixel analysis using the technique of Mean Squared analysis (MSE). The technique employs pixel-by-pixel analysis of the image and extracting the matching criteria. Since every pixel is considering for the extracting the feature it assures more accuracy of the results.

By using this technique we can improve transportation productivity and also improve public transportation efficiency. Our focus on frequent traveler to collect their data using mobile phone sensors. We use collected data in research for transportation productivity and also used for capacity building, e.g. road safety, any public transportation capacity, any infrastructures capacity.

“Design, Analysis and Fabrication of a Rollcage for an All-Terrain Vehicle”

Abstract The study aims to design, develop and fabricate a roll cage for an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) in accordance with the rulebook of BAJA 2017 given by Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Baja SAE is an intercollegiate design competition run by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Teams of students from universities all over the world design and build small offroad cars i.e. ATV. The cars all have engines of the same specifications. A roll cage is a skeleton of an ATV. The roll cage not only forms the structural base but also a 3-D shell surrounding the occupant which protects the occupant in case of impact and roll over incidents. The roll cage also adds to the aesthetics of a vehicle. The design and development comprises of material selection, chassis and frame design, cross section determination, determining strength requirements of roll cage, stress analysis and simulations to test the ATV against failure. Finally the roll cage is fabricated as per the tools and techniques available in the workshop.

FLOOD FORECASTING UPTO GARUDESHWAR WEIR IN LOWER NARMADA BASIN USING HEC-RAS

Abstract There are many dam construct on Narmada river. Sardar Sarovar Dam(SSD) is One of the largest multipurpose dam on Narmada river. During the monsoon period, when the SSD is full at its Maximum Reservoir Level (MRL) and still the surplus flow is approaching, which is released from the dam to avoid the overtopping. This will result into wastage of valuable water into sea which can be used during low inflow in the dam. Garudeshwar weir has been proposed to construct at the downstream of dam which will create tail storage for running RBPH turbine a thought year. Garudeshwar weir will lead to increase water level due to back water flow flood situation will arise between Garudeshwar weir and SSD.

With the advent of modern technology, the use of sophisticated software in flood modelling helps in getting an idea of extent of flood at its submergence. Hence, to facilitate in getting an idea of extent of flood and its submergence flood forecasting study at Garudeshwar weir which is 12 km downstream of SSD is consider for the modelling using HECRAS software. In this present study river reach of 12 km between weir and SSD including 28 cross sections and submersible bridge is selected for modelling.

Abstract Security is one of the wide ranging and problematic requirement that use to be maintaining in order to manage few problems like confidentiality, integrity and authentication. In a content-based publish/subscribe system; authentication is challenging to manage since there are no secure connections between the end parties. Similarly, an Integrity and confidentiality need occurs in published events and subscription conflicts with content-based routing. In this paper based for implement security system in Brokerless content based publish/subscribe system we modify pairing based cryptography system. In this system, we use Identity Based Encryption (IBE) technique to manage the needs of publish/subscribe system. This helps in maintain fine-grained key management encryption, decryption operation and routing is carried out in the order of subscribed attributes.

Analytical investigation of longitudinally stiffened cold-formed steel lipped channel purlins

Abstract The maximum deflection of a cold-formed steel purlin can be minimized by introducing longitudinal stiffeners in both web and flange of the section and locating them in appropriate positions along the compression and tension zones.In this paper, a cold-formed steel lipped channel section is modeled in Finite Element Analysis using Abaqus.CAE software and V-stiffeners are located at different positions in the flange and the web individually. The models are subjected to pure bending and the maximum deflection of the tension zone is extracted and comparison is made. An appropriate positioning of V-stiffener in cold-formed lipped channel section is proposed.

Urban Stormwater Management Policy- Linking of Urban lakes for West Part of Vadodara city

Abstract Now days one of the most prominent activity focusing in Indian cities is the Up-gradation of the urban drainage system and utilization of Best Urban Stormwater Management Practices. Large amount of investment spent in construction of stormwater drains and adoption of Low Impact Development concepts in towns and cities to prevent flooding during heavy storms. Stormwater drains extend several kilometers across the town or city are expected to feed all the collected surface runoff into the nearest surface water body such as a lake or a river. Recently Vadodara city has declare as one of the smart cities of India but it has very big history of urban flooding due to heavy intense rainfall in short duration also flash floods takes place due to flah river Vishwamitri flowing in centre of the city. West part of the city has six lakes suffers serious issue of overflowing in monsoon season absorbing large runoff from its large impervious catchment area. Therefore, this study has been taken to interlink these lakes by Stormwater drainage system using Stormwater Management Modelling (SWMM) V5.1 software, which will reduce impact of flooding and inundation in nearby areas and will maintain sufficient water level in these lakes throughout season. This ultimately increased Stormwater absorbing capacity of lakes.
