Improved Opinion Mining System to Enhance Accuracy using SVM with RBF Kernel

Abstract Opinions in social media platforms provide worldwide access to what people think about daily life topics/issues. Thus exploiting such a source of data to comprehend popular opinion can be exceptionally valuable in numerous situations, for instance by political gatherings keen on observing attitudes towards their policies. The opinion mining research field aims to develop automated approaches to accurately analyze such opinion data. Although there is much previous work on opinion mining, the majority of early studies analyzed text documents such as product and movie reviews. Only a limited number of studies have attempted to analyze public opinion in a political context. Twitter, which is now and again called a buy in and- publish social network, gives coordinated connections among users' and hosts feeling rich data over a wide arrangement of users' and points. In this manner, it is clear that mining client opinions and estimations from Twitter will be exceptionally valuable for some applications.

EFFECT OF VARIABLE COMPRESSION RATIOS ON C.I ENGINE FUELED WITH LINSEED BIODIESEL

Abstract Experimental degradation and scarcity are the main problems associated with petroleum derived diesel. Biodiesels are emerged as an alternative in recent days. Many edible oils derived biodiesels giving good performance and less emission compared to diesel but it will cause hike in the price of edible oils. Present work concentrated on generating biodiesel from non-edible oil (Linseed oil) by two stage transesterification process. The biodiesel properties were compared with diesel. Compression ratio is fixed in conventional engines. To achieve the higher efficiency and good performance change of compression ratio is used. The effect of compression ratio was studied on diesel engine without any modification with linseed biodiesel as a fuel. The optimum parameters were found to prepare biodiesel from the crude linseed oil .The prepared biodiesel has 5.4% less calorific valve than the diesel and 23.5% higher kinematic viscosity. UHC and CO2 were less in case of biodiesel (B20). Higher compression ratio is better for biodiesel as it is showing better performance and less emission.

A LABORATORY STUDY ON THE STABILIZATION OF EXPANSIVE SOIL BY USING CERAMIC WASTE POWDER AND CALCIUM CHLORIDE

Abstract This paper deals with enhancing the engineering properties of expansive soil by treating it with ceramic waste powder with calcium chloride as binder. Expansive soil generally swell significantly when come in contact with moisture and shrink when the moisture squeezes out, and this type of soil will have low bearing capacity. Therefore it is necessary to stabilize expansive soil, thus improving the load bearing capacity of a sub grade to support pavement and foundation. The expansive soil is collected locally and mixed with varying percentage of ceramic waste powder with calcium chloride as binder, Liquid Limit Test, Plastic Limit Test, Standard Proctor Test, California Bearing Ratio Test (CBR), and DFS were conducted on soil sample and checked the improvement in engineering properties of soil.

STUDIES ON THE PROPERTIES OF HIGH STRENGTH CONCRETE WITH COPPER SLAG AS FINE AGGREGATE

Abstract Utilization of high volume Copper Slag (CS) in concrete is the aim of present work. This study leads towards cleaner production; by utilizing industrial waste i.e. CS. The objective of the present paper is to make High Strength Concrete (HSC) by utilizing CS as Fine Aggregate (F.A). The work was carried in two phases. In first phase, sand was replaced with CS in various percentages of 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% & 100%. In second phase, cement was replaced with Nano silica (1%, 2% & 3%) to get maximum strength & impermeable concrete. Performance of concrete mixtures containing CS and Nano silica (NS) in terms of compression, split tensile & flexural strength and durability characteristic like water absorption were also identified. From all these studies it could be determined that replacing F.A with 100% CS in HSC was technically viable.

Abstract The increasing competitiveness and enormous involvement of commercial value in construction industry, planning and scheduling has attained an indispensable entity. The ongoing construction Industrial building located near Faridabad NHPC Metro Station is the site chosen for the project. The Industrial building constructed in an area of 70,000 sqf, the schedule cost to construct the industrial building is Rs.18.71 crores. The client for the construction project was Regent Garage Pvt. Ltd. By analyzing the existing schedule of a residential building project, the delays in the project is analyzed. The effect due to the delay in the project are categorized using the literatures. The effect due to the delay in the project are analyzed. The delays are avoided by giving suitable solution for the same. The project is rescheduled by using Microsoft Project software. The construction project is rescheduled using the literatures collected and more data’s are included in the rescheduled prepared. By using the rescheduled the delays can be avoided and the cost can be controlled.

PREDICTIONS OF PERFORMANCE AND EMISSION PARAMETERS OF A BIOETHANOL BLENDED VCR SI ENGINE USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS

Abstract The influence of alternate fuels in the place of fossil fuels play a prominent role in the automobile sector. This is due to combustion of fossil fuels; the emissions were coming out of the engine which affects the human health and the environment. In order to decrease the emissions (like CO and HC emissions) coming out of the SI engine, an oxygenated fuel (Bioethanol) is selected as an alternate fuel for the SI Engine. To decrease the complexity and to save the time with the thermodynamic calculations, Neural Networks are very useful for predicting the required targets. The performance and emission parameters data is selected from the base paper and are arranged accordingly inputs and targets for the training purpose of neural networks. The selected inputs are % of Gasoline, % of Bioethanol, Specific Gravity, Calorific value, Octane Number, Compression ratio, Brake Power, Mass of Fuel, EGT and the selected targets are BTE, % of CO Emissions, ppm of HC Emissions. The results obtained from the L-M Algorithm are correlated with the experimental results from the base paper using statistical tool such as MAPE and R2. The MSE Value of best validation performance is 0.010456 at the epoch 3 which is in acceptable limits. After observing the experimental and predicted results, it is clarified that the ANN is successful in simulating the engine model.

Abstract Wire drawing is widely used forming process in which diameter of wire is reduced by using converging die. It has several advantages like good surface finish, dimensional accuracy and better mechanical properties. Wire drawing process is complex problem because plastic deformation is non-linear in nature. It becomes highly important to increase the efficiency of the process and the quality of the desired product as the competition in the market continuously increases. In this paper wire drawing process, its mechanism, how to simulate the process with the help of FEM, process parameters and the monitoring of the process have been reviewed. This paper also reviews the new technique of lubrication like axial and radial ultrasonic vibration. This paper emphasises mainly on the new technique which improves the process and optimized the consumption of available resources.

Cluster Head Selection Using Gradient Descent Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Network

Abstract Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consists of large number of small size sensor nodes having limited battery and power resources. They are used in various applications like health care, military, home and environmental sensing for real time operations. Energy efficiency and network lifetime are main concern of WSN. Clustering is one of most efficient routing algorithm to solve issues of network. Selection of cluster head is one of the main concerns for WSN. Different algorithms have been proposed to find best-suited cluster head with low energy consumption. In this paper, Gradient Descent approach has been used and is compared with modified LEACH. MATLAB 2015a simulation results show improvement in terms of number of dead nodes, optimal number of cluster head and number of packets transmitted to base station.

Abstract As we know that lots of the research is going on to the growth of economy and how we can improve it and in today’s world the growth of automobile industry or growth aluminium alloy wheel manufacturing industry is very high. If we talk about the use of aluminium alloy then the aluminium is very strong material for various application, so we can use the aluminium alloy in the automobile industry/aluminium alloy wheel industry. The objective of this project is to study of the production line of an aluminium alloy wheel manufacturing industry and to improve the quality of production using quality control tools. The defects during the manufacturing process occurs which are responsible for reducing the quality of product are analysed with the help of using technique like historical data analysis , check sheet, pareto diagram, cause –effect diagrams, design of experiments and root cause. The all data is collected for various inspection method. Using check sheet facts has been collected and all of the defects are studied. The result find by this study shows that major defects or reason for rejection of product or component during manufacturing process were shrinkage non- metallic inclusions, micro cavity and gas holes. All defects are studied and the possible cause for defects are shown in Fishbone diagram. The Fishbone diagram may be called as cause defect. Shrinkage mainly occurs due to the lack of accounting error, lack of feed and ineffective inventory. the basic phenomena for lack of feed is that while hydrogen bureaucracy gasoline holes and porosity in aluminium casting , due to the amount of the hydrogen present in molten metal. The hydrogen absorbing capacity of molten metal is due to temperature effect.

Abstract The temperature of metropolitan area continues to enhance because of the heat island incident. The practical high temperatures increase the energy problem of metropolitan area, deteriorate comfort conditions and amplify the pollution problems. To counter balance the observable facts, significant mitigation technologies have been developed and projected. Among them, the use of green roofs appears to be extremely promising, presenting comparatively high heat island mitigation prospective. Urban heat island has usually used the distinction plants index as the indicator of plants large quantity to approximation the land surface temperature plants relationship. This study examines the applicability of plants portion derivative from a spectral combination model as another marker of plants abundance. Urban Heat Island has important impacts on the buildings energy utilization and outside ambient air quality .A variety of approaches, as well as observation and simulation techniques have been projected to understand the causes of urban Heat Island formation and to find the corresponding improvement strategies. This paper presents an assessment of the techniques used to study urban Heat Island. The abilities and restrictions of each approach for the exploration of urban Heat Island improvement and forecast are discussed. The treatment of important parameters together with latent, sensible heat in addition to behavior of radiation, effect of vegetation and pool.

Abstract Polymers providing their service to the society with their remarkablefeatureslike low-density, resistance to oxidation which leads to corrosion, low coefficient of friction, good mould capability&inexpensive. In the existing work epoxy resin ispreferred as matrix, Arhar flakes is preferred as reinforcement. Arhar is taken in the form of flakes & mixed with epoxy by using mechanical shear mixer, then placed in ultrasonicator for better scattering of Arhar flakes in the matrix. After this the composite is cured at room temperature. Different weights of Arhar flakes (5,10,15,20 gm wt.) has been to prepare the composite samples & same samples tested for mechanical properties. From the results of the mechanical properties, the Arhar flakes with 15gms epoxy composite samples showing the better values.

EFFECT OF USING METAKAOLIN AS FILLER IN BITUMINOUS MIX

Abstract This study investigates the effects of using Metakaolin (MK) in bituminous mixture as a replacement of common filler. Іn perspective of the same, samples were prepared for various bitumen content differing from 4.0-5.5% at 0.5% increment as well as percentage of filler varying from 2 to 6 % of Metakaolin was used. By using Marshall mix design the optimum binder content were evaluated for all the mixes. The results from the experiment indicates higher stability value with optimum binder content for the mix having 4.456 % of bitumen at 4% of metakaolin as optimum filler in comparison with the standard specifications. In this experimental study the feasibility of using metakaolin as alternative filler instead of conventional filler can be used by satisfying the standard specifications.

“Seismic analysis of RC framed building with different positioning of viscous dampers”

Abstract The role of damping becomes important when it comes to reducing the response of structures to earthquake loads designing them as earthquake resistant structures. Different types of dampers are in use in the industry. Fluid Viscous dampers are used in this study to evaluate the behavior of RC framed building. Main objective of structural system is sustain and transfer the lateral loads to the ground. The vibrations are caused in the structures as the lateral loads are dynamic in nature. Fluid viscous dampers are used in order to make building as earthquake resistant structure. Different building models with various positioning of FVD are studied in thesis. The models are analysed with Etabs 2016 version by Equivalent static analysis and Response spectrum analysis. It has been observed that the building with FVD at centre of exterior frame performed better than other models considered.

This paper involves study and design of a Geo-Grid Reinforced Soil wall for site in Himachal Pradesh on project of Four laning of Kiratpur to Ner-Chowk of Section of NH 21 from km 73.000 to km 186.500 in States of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh with Project length of 84.380 km and 327.000 lane km

The exchange of fossil fuels by optional fuels in the manufacture of cement clinker is of great significance both for cement manufacturers and for environment. The objective of the study was to analyze the effect of cement industry on soil present in nearby areas of cement industry of ACC cement plant in khor village Neemuch district, Madhyapradesh. The 5 nearby Areas of Cement plant selected for study are Nayagaon, Jawad, Suwakheda, Aathna, and Ummedpura Neemuch District, Madhya Pradesh. In addition, the utilization of alternative fuels can decrease the expenses of concrete production. It has been seen that steady drop of cement dust on soil causes pollution. Chemical analysis of soil in and around the industrial zone of a cement industry was examined and it was seen that as the distance from industry builds, the impact of soil contamination reduces, extensively for pH, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium content.

Abstract Day to day life gas leakage and gas detection is a major issues which effecting on our daily lives. Similarly gas wastage is a main concern that requirements to be counteracted. LPG gas in highly flammable and can inflict injury to life. To avoid the circumstances, a substantial total of determination requires remained dedicated towards the improvement of techniques aimed at recognizing gas leakage. The scope of the project is to suggest the intention and creation by through SMS type Gas Leakage signal Method. It applicable to detect gas leakages in a kitchen or industries by using an infrared sensor. This project for safety purpose that will sense flammable gases and alert the applicants. And the signals are passed via audial or visual signals although we are situated, in the system using a stepper motor and gas detectors which supports to turn-off the switch after here an alternative in our absence. Internet of things (IOT) offers real time information offered on internet through earlier retrieving by a gas sensor that can sense several harmful gases. This alerting system it offers the location of the emergency situation. And helps to rescue team.

Abstract In cloud computing data access control is a challenging in public cloud storage system This is a vendor neutral conceptual model that Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) concentrates on the role and interactions of the identified actors in the cloud computing sphere, that flexible for securable data and access control for cloud storage with honest-but-curious cloud servers. An CA (Central Authority) is introduced to generate secret keys for legitimacy verified users. Unlike other multiple authority access control schemes, each authority in their own scheme manages the whole attribute set individually. The framework employs multiple attribute authorities to share the load of user legitimacy verification. To address the issue of data that access control in cloud storage, there have been quite a few schemes proposed, among which Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) is regarded as one of the most promising techniques.

ENHANCEMENT OF FAR-REGION HAZY IMAGE USING MULTIEXPOSURE IMAGE FUSION

Abstract Poor climate conditions can decrease visibility of images obtained outside, reducing their visual quality. The image processing task concerned about the alleviation of this impact is known as image dehazing. Many of such dehazing techniques have been introduced. However these methods cannot dehaze the far haze and high hazy images. In this work a new algorithm is designed to overcome these drawbacks. In this method, first the original hazy image is under-exposed through the sequence of gamma-correction activities. Then the resulting images with different exposure can be fused into a haze free image through a multi-scale Laplacian pyramid blending method. Experimental results on a set of foggy images determine that the proposed method better preserves the visibility of faraway hazy images and images that are highly affected by haze.

CONSOLIDATION CHARACTERISTICS OF EXPANSIVE SOIL TREATED WITH SILICA FUME AND VARIOUS CHEMICALS

Abstract Constructions on expansive soil are challenging and thus prone to some problems and litigation. The engineers make extensive use of local experience and empirical procedures to address these problems. Although there has been extensive study of expansive soils and foundations on expansive soil, data related to performance of residential structures are limited in general and limited in the phoenix area, in the particular. In this study an over view of the phoenix areas in India, mostly found in western and north western portions of the Andhra Pradesh. Consolidation of soil in an effective method for improvement of soil properties and the foundations and pavement system performance. Plasticity index is one of the improvement properties of soil to determine the behavior of soil in presence of water. Now days, soil stabilization is done using the waste material like silica fume, slags, rice husk ash.etc. In geotechnical engineering has been recommended from environmental point of view. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of using silica fume as soil stabilization material. In this investigation of silica fume on engineering properties of expansive clay were studied with varying silica fume content from 5% to 20%. CaCl₂ Ca(OH)₂ and AlCl₃ (0.5 %,1.0%, and 1.5%) by weight of the dry soil, the experimental results showed a significant increase in CBR, and co-efficient of consolidation (Cv) compressive index (Cc) are decreased. The differential free swell of the clay is reduced from 110% to 30%. The proctor compaction result showed a small decrease in maximum dry content from this investigation was concluded that the silica fumehasas potential to improve the characteristics of black cotton soil.

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF FIBER REINFORCED SELF COMPACTING CONCRETE

Abstract Self compacting concrete (SCC) is a special type of concrete that can flow and compact under its own weight. Due to its excellent deformable and segregation resistance property, full compaction can be achieved without vibration in form works with heavy and congested reinforcement and at the same time it is cohesive enough to be handled without segregation. Fibers are added to enhance its ductility, toughness, tensile strength and to reduce drying shrinkage. In this experimental work a simple mix design method viz NAN SU method is followed to proportionate the mix design of self compacting concrete (SCC) of grade M50 and M60. At the same time, it should satisfy the EFNORC guidelines for the workability at fresh state and strength requirement at hardened state. Two SCC mixes have been developed with GGBS as mineral admixture and recron 3s and glass fibers separately. These recron 3s and glass fibers are added to M50 and M60 grades in deferent percentages like 0.25%,0.5%,0.75% fresh FRSCC separately by volume of binder and then fresh and hardened properties of the resultant mixes have been studied.

Tests have been carried out on cubes and cylinders of SCC with and without addition of Fibers to find out compressive and split tensile strengths. The volume and length of fibers combined with cementanious material in the mix influences the flow properties of wet mix. To identify this, recron 3s and glass fibers of length 12 mm and diameter 30 microns in dosages varying from 0.25% to 0.75% by volume of the binder were added. Due to the influence of maximum fiber factor unacceptable results for workability of fresh mix due to a phenomenon such as blockage of spaces through the vertical bars of L-Box is predicted. So, to reduce this, the fibers of length and dosage not more than 12 mm and 0.75% by volume of binder respectively may be used to satisfy the EFNARC workability requirements of fresh concrete. The compressive strength of SCC is found to be more or less constant whereas, the split tensile strength increases with increase in fiber content.

The movement of robot is guarded by using Android mobiles via Wi-Fi networks by utilizing Wi-Fi module controlled in the robot. Commands are sent to the microcontroller and then translate into robotic movements. With the help of the water sprayer we can extinguish the fire.

With the help of microcontroller’s the increasing technology for developing communication of wireless network, they are various improvements in automatic different aspects for industrial concern to reduce the human efforts. For manual handling of meter reading is not suitable for working with longer purpose it leads to large amount of human workers and natural resources. Based on Wi-Fi technology the project is a system for a remote meter-reading. The readings of energy meter are constantly monitored and the user can monitor readings of energy meter remotely in his android phone by using Wi Fi based technology and the energy meter readings are also showed on the LCD screen.

Abstract The large amount of sludge is generated in paper manufacturing plants make necessary the initiation of reuse to reduce the sludge generated as a waste, such as its use in brick manufacturing. If sludge is disposed, it effects to environment in various ways. In this paper, the materials used for brick manufacturing are clay (mix of red and black clay), paper sludge, rice husk and fly ash. The physical and chemical properties of these materials are studied. The experiments have been conducted on hand moulded bricks in various mix proportions. In this, all bricks have been dried in natural conditions and lab tests are conducted as per IS Standards. The compressive strength satisfies the need of IS Code wherein, sludge added in brick manufacturing with 20% additionally and partial and fully replacement of rice husk with 10 and 20% of sludge. The water absorption of bricks also satisfies as per codes.

Analysis of Gap Acceptance, Capacity and Level of service at Unsignalised ‘T’ Intersection under Mixed Traffic Condition

Abstract The analysis of gap acceptance, capacity and level of service at uncontrolled unsignalised intersection is very important in developing countries like India. In developed countries such as USA, these intersections are controlled by using stop sign because their existed individual lanes for different class of vehicles and uniform traffic conditions. But in India, this was totally different due to all type of vehicles are using same lane which is considered as mixed traffic condition. Under this condition, each driver’s behavior is different while taking decision to maneuver the intersection safely. Generally, signals are installing instead of stop signs at these intersections because, day to day the traffic is increasing continuously and there are no rules and regulation followed by different drivers to avoid accidents and conflict movements. Installing such signals at every unsignalised intersection is very expensive. So, before installing signals it is necessary to analyze these intersections to know the present service of roads. For the present study two uncontrolled unsignalised intersections at Peerzadiguda X road and Chengicherla X road both NH-163 were selected because, these two intersections are tackled more congestion as increasing daily traffic. The video graphic survey was carried out to estimate the gap/lag, arrival rate, approaching vehicle types, waiting time etc.. Based on this data, further parameters like critical gap, follow-up times, capacity and level of service were estimated accurately using different field techniques like Modified Raff’s method, Harder Method, Greenshield method and Clearing time method etc..which were old and latest methods and also used HCM 2010 as a reference manual. Finally, the results were compared at these intersections to give further solutions like improving of intersection, installing signals, extent of roads, providing medians, providing stop sign etc. to provide better service for future trends.

Low-light image enhancement method based on Non-Local means using illumination map estimation

Abstract When an image was taken from low light withnoisy condition, this image suffers from low visibility and information loss due to noisy condition. To recover the poor quality of the image, we recommend a new method such as Low-Light image enhancement based on Non local means using illumination map method. In this method is used to overcome low light condition of the image and recover information from low light noisy image.In an image information was recovered by using Non local means (NLM)filter insteadof Block matching and three dimensional (BM3D)filter in the projected method. The NLM filter is efficient for the removal of noise from an image, So the NLM is shows better performance than other enhancement filters.

Abstract Cloud computing depicts a real paradigm nature and is deployed in the way systems should be. With the popularization of the internet, cloud computing systems came into evolution. In Cloud computing technology, Energy efficiency is becoming important due to increase in power consumption and carbon emission. In this paper, Modified Best Fit Decreasing (MFBD) algorithm is used which allocates VM on the basis of CPU utilization and we focus to improve the existing algorithm by applying novel optimization technique, a genetic algorithm for VM migration. The behavior is based on natural phases and its function adapts very well in virtualization. We used MATLAB for simulations and the parameters like Power consumption, VM migrations, and SLA violations are performed by comparing with the existing parameters. The experimental result shows better improvement in both VMs placement and migration and the ability to achieve significant energy savings when compared to the existing algorithm.

Groundwater Contamination-an overview

Abstract Water is limited in quality rather than quantity in many semi-arid regions of the world, India being one of them. The rapid growth of industrialization and urbanization has started to take toil on the freshwater resources all around the world during the past few decades. Thus, proper monitoring, assessment and knowledge of contamination at local/regional levels is required as a cost-effective measure to prevent this vital resource from further getting contaminated. Groundwater contamination is an artificially induced degradation of the quality of groundwater. It comes from two types of sources (point and non-point sources). A point source theoretically means those pollution sources that comes from a single, recognizable source or point. The effects of such sources usually remain relatively local to the point from which the pollution is originating. Non-point sources include naturally occurring contaminants and are less obvious. It is not focused around a specific point or source. Henceforth, a large number of sources and causes can alter the groundwater quality, making its use inapt and can cause various health hazards if consumed in contaminated states. With the rising recognition of the significance of groundwater resources, efforts are growing to prevent, decrease and eradicate groundwater contamination.

Energy Conservation By Implementation Of Solar Photo Voltaic Modules in Indian Railway Linke Hofmann Busch Coaches

Abstract Lord “SUN” is being worshipped as a sole source of life on earth since ancient times. The estimated power released by the continuous fusion reactor is the order of 3.8*???????????????? watts out which mother earth intercepts 1.78*???????????????? watts. The rapid technology advancement literally ignores this purest form of energy due to easy availability of conventional fuels till 1973 when the first oil embargo shook the world. This oil crisis aided with increased awareness towards the new invention in renewable energy. In this study , a study was carried out to access the feasibility of installing solar photovoltaic modules at the top of Indian railway Linke Hofmann Busch coaches. This reduces the usage of diesel in trains and there is a significant reduction in C???????? and N???????? emissions. Implementation of this scheme for all 178 trains running under Indian railway services there will be annual savings of 95000 crore rupees corresponding to 17361 kilometers of diesel and an annual reduction of 46129 tons of C???????? AND 337.873 tons of N???????? emissions.

Abstract Presently no authentic guidelines are available for TRD and it is very urgent requirement to draft new code for tsunami load. Here is an initiation to guide for designing of superstructure in the tsunami prone areas. This paper is also a helpful document for drafting a code and giving guidelines for Tsunami Resistant Design. Paper describes a new concept to draft a code on Tsunami. This paper is giving guidelines only on Tsunami Resistant superstructure Design. After giving present availability of code guidelines on tsunami in the beginning, some important forces for tsunami like Drag force (Hydrodynamic force), Buoyant force, Impact force, Surge force and Hydrostatic force are discussed with their detail primary equation explanations. After designing any building, it is equally important to made stability check for that design. Stability checks for overturning, sliding, compression (crushing) and tension are also explained with their basic equation explanations. Apart from it some important design guidelines, specifically for tsunami prone areas, are also given with figures for clear understanding. Application of this paper, guidelines for soil condition and sub structure design, can also be made. Again application can also be extended up to formation of complete design process for Tsunami Resistant Design and proposal for drafting a code on Tsunami. Paper is an extension in the initiated effort by an author of this paper to guide for Tsunami Resistance from Civil Engineering point of view.

QUANTIFYING THE EVAPOTRANSPIRATION PROCESS OF GREEN ROOF SYSTEM IN HOT AND DRY CLIMATIC CONDITION OF INDIA

Abstract It is predictable that approximately 40 % of universal energy is associated with the buildings maintenance and building construction so building segment is associated very huge amount of energy utilization worldwide .So there is very high energy economy prospective in building segment .Building segment are also associated 33 % of green house gas production internationally. Due to the very high amount of energy consumption in building construction and maintenance and greenhouse gas ambition .There are so many sustainable approaches and environment friendly technologies have been introduced in this category, green roofs are identified as an important energy efficient technology that could potentially offer, the several benefits to society and environment. Plants on the green roofs can purify the air, plants and substrate can purify the rain water runoff as well as delay the storm peak. The evapotranspiration had most significant role of reducing the intensity of all the solar heat fluxes by modeling, diverting and outgoing heat flexes, depending on state of plants like desert native plants and crassulacean acid metabolism plants. Due to numerous biological reactions in experimental set up 69% of heat flexes was reduced by evapotranspiration process. We measured that temperature outside and inside temperature reduction was 46% green roof with moisture. Interestingly, the lowest conductive heat fluxes through the green roof were found when the green roof was wet. The experimental and calculated data shows that model tends to predict 69% of evapotranspiration, 23% sensible heat, 5 % soil convection heat and 3% heat for conduction, transpiration, photosynthesis respiration reaction process for energy balance for green roof system with moisture. In the summer conditions when temperature is high thus increase the evapotranspiration process it reduces air cooling load (HVAC) inside of building.

The performance of these building models under Seismic loading is examined by carrying out Response Spectrum analysis using structural analysis software ETABS 2016 v16.2.1. The objectives are to assess the welding simulation capabilities of the commercial software package ANSYS. To evaluate three different plate lap-joint designs, undergoing welding. To compare both Experimental & Simulated Analysis with respect to Maximum welding Tensile strength. Evaluate the verification of experimental and Numerical results. A sample containing three pieces are welded with electric Arc Welding process taking current, voltage, and welding time as a input parameters to define the variety of the tensile strength of the samples. The tensile test is carried out using uniformly varying load up to rupture strength. The experimentation is divided into three cases (1018+1018, 1062+1062 and 1018+1062) for these three cases strength analysis were conducted experimentally and analytically. Modeling is done in CATIA -V5 and Static Structural analysis is done in ANSYS. A quite good results were obtained between measurements and simulations. The results show that ANSYS is able to simulate welding, though with some limitations and difficulties

The effect of process parameters Voltage, pH of
electrolyte and Titania (TiO2) concentration on micro hardness of TiO2-HAP composite coated Ti-6Al-4V substrate was investigated. The microstructure and elemental compositions of coating were analyzed by using scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The incorporation of TiO2 results in refined structure and increased hardness, adhesion and wear resistance.

In present work impact of cutting conditions (cutting speed V, feed rate f, depth of cut d) on output parameters (i.e. Ra, Tw) has been studied during turning of Incoloy 825 while machining it with CVD Coated Tungsten Carbide Insert. Machining parameters are optimized by RSM based BBD Technique, using the desirability analysis for minimizing the surface roughness(Ra), and tool wear(Tw). The study indicated that the optimal parameters for Multi Response Optimization were found to be at cutting speed(V) 69 m/min, feed rate(f) 0.072rev/min and depth of cut(d) 0.2 mm.

Abstract Equipment plays a very important role in construction industry as it allows for speedy completion of project. As sites are becoming more and more equipment intensive, it is necessary to have an equipment management policy which keeps the equipment in acceptable condition. Breakdown of equipment can cause huge cost to the contractors and delay the schedule. Literature review on breakdown of equipment and its impact has brought out lot of issues in construction industry. Concreting process at residential tower site was observed to understand the working of equipment. Batching plant and Concrete pump were identified as two of the critical equipment at site. Concrete pump had a very high breakdown rate in comparison to other concreting equipment. Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) on equipment breakdown showed that failure of electrical nature posed higher risk than any other failure in batching plant. Similarly, in concrete pump choking of concrete in steel pipes were given a high risk priority. Analysis of working hours of equipment showed that transit mixer and pumping equipment worked in a specific proportion to the batching plant working hours in a given site. Consequential cost for breakdown of batching plant was found to be twenty four times the cost re- ported at site. Maintenance policy of equipment was analysed to understand issues in data collection and accounting methods at site.

The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was done by the broth dilution method. The presence of substituents especially methyl, chloro, fluoro and dimethoxy groups when attached to phenyl ring increases the activity notably. Among the compounds 1,3,5,6,16 and 18 displayed potent activity towards both gram positive and gram negative bacteria

The major objective of this thesis is to study the behavior and optimum alignment of outrigger systems with and without belt trusses of a 30-storey three dimensional model subjected to lateral loads. The analysis has been carried out in Etabs 2015 version software for models with different alignment of outriggers. The outcomes have shown that the outriggers system has a considerable effect in minimizing of lateral displacement and storey drift of tall structures

Abstract Aim of this work is to fabricate TiO2-HAP composite coatings on Ti-6Al-4V alloy with electrodeposition process and examine the effect of process parameters on micro hardness of TiO2-HAP composite coated Ti-6Al-4V substrate. Voltage, pH of electrolyte and Titania (TiO2) concentration were taken as process parameters. TiO2-HAP composite coatings on Ti-6Al-4V were deposited with help of
electrodeposition process from the standard Watt’s solution. The relationship between process parameters and micro hardness of composite coatings was established by Taguchi method. Design of experiment was carried out by selecting three levels of each parameters and L9 Taguchi orthogonal array design was employed for this purpose. Vickers micro-hardness tester was used to determine micro-hardness of the composite coatings by applying 200 gf for 15 seconds of indentation period. Signal-to-noise ratio and
analysis of variance were employed to determine the significance of the process parameter. The surface morphologies and elemental compositions of coating were analyzed by using scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectroscopy.

Abstract Since the early times, many researches and advancements were carried to improve the physical and mechanical properties of concrete. High strength concrete may be termed as recent advancement in concrete world. Fibre reinforcement to High strength concrete is one among those advancements which offers a convenient, practical and economical method for overcoming micro cracks and similar type of deficiencies. Since concrete is frail in tension, hence some measures must be adopted to overcome this insufficiency. Human hair is generally strong in tension; hence it can be used as a fibre reinforced material. Human hair fibre is a substitute non-degradable matter obtainable in abundance and at low cost. It also creates environmental problems. Experiments were conducted on concrete cubes of standard sizes with addition of various percentages of human hair fibre i.e., 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% by weight of cement, fine and coarse aggregate and results were compared with those of plain cement concrete of M60 grade. For each percentage of human hair added in concrete, 9 cubes were tested for their respective compressive properties at curing periods of 3 days, 7 days and 28 days. The change in compressive strength of concrete is determined and analysed. The results obtained show us that the optimum content of human hair fibre to be added to M60 grade of concrete is 1% to the weight of cement, fine and coarse aggregate together and consequently there has been a significant increase in compressive strength of concrete

Physico-chemical characteristics of water samples include pH, Specific Conductivity (SC) at 25ºC, carbonate (CO3 2- ), bicarbonate (HCO3- ), Alkalinity, Chloride (Cl- ), Sulphate (SO4 2-
), Nitrate (NO3 - ), Fluorine (F), Calcium (Ca), Sodium (Na), Magnesium (Mg), Potassium (K), Total hardness (TH) and Total dissolved solids (TDS). Water Quality Index suggests that 18 sampling areas were having excellent water quality whereas it was good and poor in 23 and 4 sampling areas, respectively. Cluster analysis resulted in division of sampling areas into less polluted (LP) regions, moderately polluted regions (MP) and highly polluted regions (HP). In conclusion, evaluation of Water Quality Index and multivariate analysis helps in assessing the groundwater quality

Abstract Geopolymer concrete (GPC) is prepared by using industrial waste like fly ash (FA) and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) replacing ordinary Portland cement (OPC). Geopolymer concrete is the most economical and ecofriendly replacement to traditional concrete. The alkaline solutions used for polymerization of concrete are sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium silicate (Na2SiO3). A 10 Molarity solution is used for preparation of mix. In the present study different proportions of fly ash and GGBS are prepared as FA80 and GGBS20, FA90 and GGBS10 in percentages of total binding material and copper slag is replaced as fine aggregate in 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100%. The strength properties like compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength are tested for 7, 28 and 90 days of ambient curing. The fresh concrete tests are also conducted. Comparing studies show that geopolymer concrete can be prepared at low cost comparing to that of OPC concrete and offers huge reduction in the carbon dioxide emissions.

The acid resistance tests were carried out on specimens by using 1% diluted sulphuric acid solution. The acid immersed specimens were tested for determination of compressive strength, split tensile strength & flexural strength after curing for 91 days. Similarly, the fire resistance tests carried out by using hot air oven at 100°C, 300°C for 1hour duration.

Recently, Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) has come into existence as an alternative to conventional cooling. The process mainly focuses on the use of minuscule level of lubricants mixed with pressurized air and sprayed on to the cutting zone through the help of nozzle. Abstract Gray water is generated during domestic activities through wash basins, bathrooms, kitchen sinks and automobile cleaning etc. They often contain objectionable parameters, such as solids, organic, nutrients, coli forms etc restricting the disposal into water bodies/its beneficial uses. Gray water plays an important role to be a resource which can be treated for application in a lot of areas which are water starved. Treated Gray water can be one of the reliable alternatives with the increased challenges of freshwater availability. It contains low organic matters which makes it to be used prior to the treated sewer water as its availability is throughout the year. It is cost feasible for recycling and also a good source of water for augmenting water supply. Various medium of a filter treatment method of Gray water are used in this research such as gravels, Course Sand, Charcoal for both Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) removal efficacy. A study was performed on Gray water generated from residences of Sector 26, Pratapnagar, Jaipur collected and physico-chemical-biological parameters analyzed from the same. The samples analyzed showed clearly high values of pollution parameters necessitating a simple treatment scheme to suit the reuse as a medium at gardens for irrigation purpose.

Abstract A finite element bending analysis of laminated plate and shells are presented in this paper. A degenerated shell element is obtained by degenerating a 3-D solid element. The external faces of the element are curved, while the sections across the thickness are generated by straight lines. The finite element formulation of an 8- noded 3D degenerated shell element with 5 degrees of freedom per node is derived for the analysis. The intent of this investigation, is to validate the accuracy and convergence of the present formulation, by comparing the deflection of thin laminated plates and shells under static loading obtained by, the present finite element program ABAQUS, with manual calculations of finite element method (FEM) results.

Abstract The Engine cylinder is one of the primary engine elements, that is subjected to excessive temperature differences and thermal stresses. Fins are placed on the surface of the cylinder to enlarge the amount of heat rejection by convection. The present study described the reviews on heat dissipation improvement and the equivalent pressure decreases over a plane surface, pin fins different shaped (circular, rectangular) fitted with tube-shaped cross-sectional so as to optimize the improvement in the heat transfer rate. The heat resistance is considered as the multiple thermal performance features. The conclusions of geometric limitations, fin length, fin area and material of fin with base temperature to ambient temperature variation on the heat transfer performance of fin arrays and the optimum fin separation value has been optimized. The effect of fin density on the heat transfer behavior is examined Heat transfer also increases with the thermal conductivity of the material and with the pin fin length.

In this present investigation workability, strength parameters of concrete with steel fibers in proportions of 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% was investigated for M35 grade concrete cubes, cylinders, prisms. Tests were performed to evaluate the workability characteristics of fresh concrete, Compressive, Split Tensile and Flexural strength were determined at the age of 7days, 28days, 56days, and 91days respectively. Durability of the concrete was tested by immersing the specimens in 1% Hydrochloric acid solution for 91 days.

Abstract India is a country which is mostly covered with black cotton soil and most of the regions in Andhra Pradesh are rich in black cotton soil resources, but black cotton soils are highly expansive and are not suitable for the construction of multi storied buildings in order to construct these heavier structures we need to stabilize the soil using admixtures, the admixtures which are in use at present are costlier, that is why to reduce the cost of stabilization for foundation soil, coconut coir is used, which is locally available raw material and a comparison in the strength properties are carried out by using coconut coir and fly ash. In the present study an attempt is made to find out the improvement of strength in black cotton soil mixed with varying percentage of coconut coir and fly ash, by conducting a series of Unconfined compression strength (U.C.S) and California bearing ratio (C.B.R) tests, Differential free swell. The tests are conducting by adding varying percentages of 4%,5%,8%,10% respectively for coconut coir and fly asfh.

Abstract This paper presents the effect of regenerative braking on the hydrogen consumption of fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). The hydrogen consumption of Fuel Cell/Battery/Supercapacitor (FC/BATT/SC) electric vehicle is compared for regenerative braking and non regenerative braking (non-RB) cases. Frequency splitting operational state control strategy (FSOSCS) is used for the energy management of FC/BATT/SC configurations. Simulation is carried out in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The results indicate that use of regenerative braking causes improved battery state of charge (SOC level), increased voltage of supercapacitor, improved transient performance and reduced stress on fuel cell, thus resulting in reduced hydrogen consumption.

In recent years, due to the necessity of saving energy and also preventing environmental pollution, the need of sustainable construction has been doubled. Checking the problems of thermal behavior of the building envelope materials, and what influences in the heating and cooling loads ex-erted and energy consumption of buildings, are the questions that this research seeks to answer.[1] It is concluded that with the application of these techniques the building could be made comfortable with comparatively less use of energy for all.

The trend toward increased building wall insulation to conserve energy enhances the tendency for air moisture to condense within the wall. Efforts to predict the types of building wall construction and climatic variations that could cause such wall condensation have not been generally successful when compared to field measurements. Many predictive models rely on steady-state equations for calculating the diffusion rates for heat and water vapor through the building wall structure, ignoring the transient effects and the
storage capacity of the building wall materials. [5] Others include transient effects, but they neglect the distributions of temperature in favor of a lumped parameter approach. Based on conjecture that storage effects may account for the discrepancy between simulation and practice, this paper examines the heat and mass transfer in Building wall materials by utilizing governing equations based on conservation of energy.

Some parameter, such as cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut, temperature of the work piece are taken in the machining process way stimulated in taguchi L9 based grey relational analysis method find corresponding deformation, rate of tool wear, cutting force, surface roughness and the temperature distribution of this paper.

Abstract The face spoof technique was proposed to identify and detect the spoofed and non-spoofed images. The DWT technique is used to analyze the textual features present within the test images. There is a possibility of presence of exceptional disturbances like geometric disturbances and the artificial texture disturbances. The time which is required for the classification is very long and it is difficult to evaluate optimal value of k . According to the data, the value of k is evaluated. By increasing the value of k, noise is reduced. The distinct boundary value is very less as compared to the other generated classes. By using several k-values of different classes KNN methodology is increased in order to overcome such limitations. Comparisons are being made to analyze the proposed approach performance according to the accuracy of the proposed algorithm and the existed algorithm in terms of accuracy and time of execution.

This paper proposed designing of feature extraction of Manipuri speech signal and gender Classification using MFCC and Power Spectrum .Previously there are so many technique for the classification, here we are comparing with all the classifiers and testing the results. The classifiers are used to differentiate the gender as male or female. The database for the speech recognition system is collection of male and female voices. The main features for the gender recognition are the base in the voice, softness, hardness in the voice. We are performing the results by using the Mel frequency cepstrum coefficient (MFCC), power spectrum and Euclidian distance classifier. By seeing the experimental results we can say that the proposed method is giving better results.

Abstract In this present project work, M30 grade of concrete was used as reference mix. The fine aggregate is replaced with percentages 0% (for conventional concrete mixture), 30%, 40% and 50% of copper slag by weight and optimum dosage is found out for 7 and 28 days. Compressive strength, flexural strength and split tensile strength were determined at the age of 1, 3, 7, 28, 56 and 91 days respectively. The durability of concrete was also tested by subjecting the specimens to temperatures of 27, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500oC for durations of 1, 2 and 3 hours respectively.

Abstract Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) is the only choice in construction industry because of its easy movement in highly congested reinforcement in the structural members without segregation and bleeding. Use of SCC is increasing day by day because of its technical advantages over Normally Vibrated Concrete (NVC) in different parameters like self consolidation, smooth finishing and labour reduction. Corrosion is one of the important factors influencing strength, durability and service life of Reinforced Concrete (RC)
structures. This paper studies the mechanical properties of NVC and SCC of M30 grade and the extent of corrosion in NVC and SCC beams experimentally after 28 days when they are immersed in Nacl & Mg solutions to provide alkaline environment. The test results revealed that SCC shows better strength in compression and tension than that of NVC

Abstract in the recent years the constructions of large span reinforced concrete structures are common. The reinforced structures consist of reinforcement. Usually the lengths of the bars are of 12 m. In the construction of large span structure the length of the bars will be insufficient; to overcome this problem lapping of bars is essential. Efforts are being made to investigate the importance of lapping in the structures. Many researchers have conducted many experiments and studied the behaviour of lapped structural members.
In the present study a new type of reinforcement arrangements are made to study the flexural strength of reinforced beams. The tests conducted on the specimens are in accordance with Indian standard code. The tests are conducted on the three specimens and this study intends to test the beams made with no lapping, 100% lapping and hook reinforcement respectively. The beams are of size 1800 mm in length and the cross sectional dimension of the beams are 150mm × 200mm. The load and deflection of above mentioned beams are studied and the flexural strength of the above mentioned beams are discussed

EFFECT OF TRANSFER GIRDER ON SOFT STOREY CONDITION OF FRAME FLOATING FROM IT

Abstract I.S. 1893 : 2016 (Part 1) (Sixth Revision) was adopted by Bureau Of Indian Standards in December 2016. The definition of Soft Storey condition has been altered and equal or higher lateral stiffness of lower storey as compared to immediate upper storey is proposed than that were allowed in I.S. 1893 Part 1 : 2002. Due to scarcity of land, development rules regarding open spaces and parking, multistorey and high-rise structures are constructed with transfer girders to create column free spaces to provide clear drive way and parking movability. The present analytical study concentrates on effect of variation in stiffness of transfer girder on the lateral stiffness of the frame floated from it under lateral load. This Analytical study of R.C. frame on R.C. transfer girder is done using Staad Pro Software. The results show that, the soft storey condition of a floating frame remains unaltered, irrespective of the change in stiffness
or end support conditions of the transfer girders or its placement on transfer girder

Abstract Now-a-days Crane Hook is mainly used for the lifting and moving of heavy objects or products. Crane hook mainly works on hydraulic systems to provide a much greater lifting capability. Whenever the lifting is taking place there is a chance of failure of the crane hook due to the stress or by the repetitive loads, so that it can cause huge loss in terms of assets and it can increase death rate. So the design of hook and the materials used for the preparation of the hook need to be good. Hook is highly liable component and are always subjected to failure due to the amount of stresses concentration which can eventually lead to its failure. In the present work a crane hook is designed using different materials with different cross sections and the von-Mises stress distribution and total deformation, are calculated for a 5 ton load applied at an ambient temperature of 25°C. Real time pattern of stress concentration in 3D model of crane hook are obtained. This work is considered mainly to gain an insight on deformation and stress distribution in
hook. Different materials like Wrought Iron, Stainless Steel, Structural Steel and Forged steel are considered for the analysis. Four cross-sections like triangular, rectangular, circular and trapezoidal are used for lifting in practical scenarios (under normal working conditions).The modelling of crane hook is done in PTC CREO. The analysis of hook is carried out in ANSYS WORKBENCH. So by predicting the stress concentration area, the stress failure rates are estimated for different materials and cross-sections with the sole intention of enhancing crane hook life. It is to be found that Forged Steel with trapezoidal cross-section is best suited for the Crane Hook.

Nanoparticles can be synthesized through various techniques have therapeutic efficacy, targeted drug delivery, anti- microbial, anti-cancerous activity etc. Biosynthesis of nanoparticles using plant waste extracts embrace certain applications of being rapid biocompatible, eco-friendly and non-toxic. The biosynthesis of nanoparticles has been suggested as a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to physical and chemical methods. This paper presents anti-microbial activity of silver nanoparticles synthesized by extract of Carica papaya peel. The nanoparticles have been characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), FTIR, X-ray diffraction (XRD). The antimicrobial impact of AgNPs produced from Carica papaya peel was examined utilizing pathogenic bacterial strains.

In the following study, an attempt has been made to deal with growing amount of rubber tire waste by utilizing crumb rubber as an additive with clayey soil in order to analyze its effect on soil properties. The Standard Proctor test and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests have been carried out on parent soil and soil mixed with varying percentage of crumb rubber. The results revealed a reduction in the value of OMC and MDD with increasing crumb rubber percentage whereas the CBR has shown an increasing trend till 10% addition of crumb rubber. Therefore, it is suggested that the waste crumb rubber tires can be safely used in the subgrade as a soil binder which will effectively hold the soil with increased strength values

Abstract Geotechnical engineers are mainly concerned with the soil that lies below 3m from the earth surface. As the soil below this contains hard strata composed of rocks and different minerals. So we will conduct a series of experiments on the soil. Our main aim was to use the locally available soil, as we live in Jammu and Kashmir, the soil is mainly of clayey origin, so the available soil is treated in such a manner so as to influence the engineering properties such as shear strength , permeability in a desired manner. In our experiments we have used Sodium hydroxide, Aluminium hydroxide, Lime and Phosphorus Pentoxide in different proportions to influence the engineering properties of soil. As these chemicals have no adverse or bad effect on the soil as well as environment. As all these chemicals react with the soil in a rapid manner also influence the properties of soil. The important tests which are performed are Standard Proctor Test (S.P.T) and Unconfined Compressive Strength Test (U.C.S test). The Standard Proctor Test (S.P.T) is performed so as to obtain a graph between Optimum Moisture Content (O.M.C) and Maximum Dry Density (M.D.D). After getting the Maximum Dry Density (M.D.D), Unconfined Compressive Strength (U.C.S) has been performed to get the Unconfined Compressive Strength (U.C.S) value which has been determined as peak strength value and respective strain has been calculated from different observations

It is important for a company not only to know the deviation costs, but also to identify the most likely areas on which to focus in order to reduce these costs for the future projects. All the necessary data
and information are obtained from site records along with the revised, approved site drawings, indicating the new change and addition or omission of specified work. The deviation factors are individually compared and quantified. Most of the research studies have been dealing with several factors that cause deviations in the project. The objective of this study is to identify the main cause of the cost and schedule deviation. OIL SPILLS AND THEIR EFFECT ON THE PROPERTIES OF SOIL

Abstract The world is encountering oil pollution due to many reasons such as leakage of oil due to tanker accidents, transportation on land and sea, and during the process of oil drilling. This oil spill has a negative effect on the environment and on the ecological life and it may also change the geotechnical properties of the soil. The aim of this work was to study the effect of crude oil i.e. Kerosene and Diesel on
the properties of the soil. Three different types of soils were selected on the basis of their grain size distribution and their initial physical properties of the selected soils such as optimum moisture content, maximum dry density, and shear strength, grain size distribution, and permeability were determined. A number of samples were prepared by mixing the soil with different percentages of crude oil products (kerosene and diesel) and their effects were studied by conducting different experiments such as permeability test, proctor compaction test, direct shear test .When normal stress were low the percentage of diesel and kerosene in soil was increased, the shear strength increased then it decreased .When normal stress was high as the percentage of diesel and kerosene in soil increased, this resulted in the decrease in shearing strength where as permeability decreased in all the samples with the addition of addition of diesel and kerosene

AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE BEHAVIOUR OF CONCRETE ON PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF CEMENT WITH GROUND GRANULATED BLAST FURNACE SLAG

Abstract Concrete is the most widely used material in construction industry due to its high strength and stability. However environmental sustainability is at stake due to the damage caused by the extraction of raw materials and carbon-dioxide emission during cement manufacturing, so the industry is looking for the alternative supplementary cementitious materials. GGBS is useful in the design and development of high quality cement paste. The usage of GGBS serves as a replacement and also it is a by-product which is used as
eco-friendly material by utilizing the product without dumping which is produced from the industrial waste from the blast furnace used to make iron. Use of GGBS not only reduces the cost of production but also helps to reduce the impact on environment by consuming material which is considered as a waste product. The present study is conducted to investigate and evaluate the workability and strength characteristics of concrete of M20 grade concrete at different ages with partial replacement of cement with ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) replacing cement in percentages of 10%,20%,30%,40% by weight. The mixes were designed using IS code. The concrete mixture produced in the form of cubes, cylinders, prisms are tested for compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength. The Durability of concrete against acid attack was done after 91 days treatment with H2SO4.

MULTICASTING SCHEME FOR PATH ESTABLISHMENT IN VEHICULAR AD HOC NETWORKS

In this, two types of communication takes place that is vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure. The path establishment is the major issue of concern in vehicle to vehicle type of communication. In this paper, multicasting routing protocol is introduced for the establishment of the path from source to the desired location. the simulations are performed by using NS2 and shows various improvement in the network delay

QUADRATIC HARVESTING IN A DISCRETE PREY-PREDATOR MODEL WITH SCAVENGER

Abstract The work is related to dynamical nature of a discrete time three species prey-predator-scavenger model in the presence of quadratic harvesting on predator population. We investigate existence and parametric conditions for local stability of positive equilibrium point of this model. Moreover, it is also proved that the system under goes Neimark-Sacker (NS) and Period-Doubling bifurcation (PDB) at certain parametric values for positive equilibrium point with the help of an explicit criterion for NS and PDB. The trajectories and phase plane diagrams are plotted for biologically meaningful sets of parameter values. Also bifurcation diagram are shown for selected range of growth parameter. Finally, a numerical example is provided for justifying the validity of the theoretical analysis and visualizes the model with and without harvesting on predator.

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS 0N ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINE USING DIFFERENT MATERIALS BY GREY THAGUCHI METHOD AND OPTIMISING BY MINITAB TOOL

Abstract Going with the improvement of mechanical industry, the requests for combination materials having high hardness, sturdiness and effect opposition are increasing all things considered , such materials are hard to be machined by customary machining strategies. Consequently , non-conventional machining techniques including electrochemical machining ,ultrasonic machining ,electrical release machining (EDM) and so forth are connected to machine such hard to machine materials. Electric discharge machining is non traditional machining process utilized for machining hard and hard to machine materials.In this process a pulse discharge occurs in a small gap between the Working parts and electrodes and removing unnecessary material from the metal by melting and evaporating. In EDM, electronics and decorations are not connected to the process of removing electrical equipment and mechanism. which is converted into thermal energy through a series of subdued electrical discharge energy prevail between the cathode(work piece)and the anode (electrode) sinking in an insulating dielectric fluid. It is commonly used in mould, die making industry and in manufacturing of automotive, aerospace surgical components. The objective of the present work is to optimize the machining parameters for die sinking operation of EDM so as to achieve high material removal rate (MRR) and best surface roughness (SR). Three materials high carbon steel, mild steel and alluminium-6061 as work pieces and copper electrode of 10mm square shaped tool were used to carry out experiments by varying the input process parameters like discharge current (Ip) pulse on time (TON) and duty cycle. The output process parameters like MRR and SR will be determined for every experimental runs. By implementing the Taguchi L9 orthogonal array (OA) using commercial tool Minitab17 response to the variation of input parameters as an output was investigated with minimum no of experimental runs. Taguchi single objective optimization method was used to study the effect of individual input and output parameters for optimization both input and output parameters. The results this obtained from the above are given as inputs to Grey
Taguchi multi objective optimization technique so to determine the optimized cumulative parameters.

PREDICTION AND INFLUENCE OF PROCESS PARAMETERS IN WIRE CUT ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINING FOR HSS BY USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS

Abstract performance characteristics like cutting speed, surface roughness, wire vibration and spark gap for different thickness ranging from 5mm to 80mm for machining 18-4-1 grade high speed steel (HSS) in wire electric discharge machining (WEDM). Experiments were performed at different levels of discharge current on different levels of plate’s thickness and experimental results of spark gap, cutting speed, surface roughness, and wire vibration were taken. In WEDM, there is a risk of breakage of wire that affects the overall efficiency of the process. To decrease the breakage of wire and to save the time with the lengthy calculation , Artificial neural network (ANN) are very useful for predicting the required targets. The selected inputs are thickness, current and the selected outputs are spark gap, cutting speed, wire vibration and surface roughness. By comparing the three algorithms Levenberg-Marquardt, Bayesian Regularization and Scaled Conjugated Gradient, the results obtained from Levenberg-Marquardt are more accurate than other two
algorithms when correlated with experimental results from the base paper using statistical tool such as MAPE and R2 . By
using L-M Algorithm the MSE value of best validation performance is 0.013364 at epoch 10 which is in acceptable limit
