Object Detection on Monorail Track with Superconducting Magnet and Liner Motor

The basis of maglev trains mechanisms are magnetic levitation. This is achieved with the principal of repulsion and attraction between two magnetic poles. There are currently three known maglev suspension systems. In this project report, we will be covering the basic principles of Electrodynamic Suspension Systems (EDS), Electromagnetic Suspension Systems (EMS) and Inductrack. The three suspension systems each have different characteristics and special features. While EDS and EMS both use only the interaction of magnets and superconductors, Inductrack uses coils on the track underneath the train body. All three suspension systems work under the same principal of magnetic levitation. The maglev propulsion systems use the interaction of stators, superconductors and magnets between the railway and the train. It has controls for speed and direction, which are based on electricity also in the case of Maglev Train if there I any obstacle occurs then with the help of IC-555 timer it can be detected. This IC is only the base but it uses another IC that is Infrared obstacle Detection kit using IC-555 Timer.

However, these regulations could not be finalized for various reasons including the global economic slowdown. In a welcome move, SEBI once again taken out draft REITs Regulations, 2013, which were approved and announced by SEBI on 26th September, 2014. Mutual Funds (MF) industry in India has been growing fast in the ongoing reforms era, particularly since the 2000s when the MF industry has witnessed many innovations. In spite of this, instruments which are very similar to MFs viz. Real Estate Funds (REFs), and its variants like Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are yet to pick up momentum in India. In fact, REFs and its variants like REITs have tremendous growth potential in India; given the very low mortgage penetration in the country. Investments in REFs or REITs can offer significantly higher returns in India as against similar investment in developed nations. Hence, if properly developed REFs or REITs can significantly support the growth of residential real estate sector in India by attracting greater investment into this sector. SEBI has done a commendable job by considering international models, views of the stakeholders etc. while redefining its regulations. As SEBI goes ahead with the promotion of REITs, this paper closely looks into the features of the REITs, SEBI regulations and its implications, and suggests strategies for faster and sustainable development or real estate and housing sector in India through the REIT route.

Fabrication and Experimentation of Aqua Silencer

The main reason for air pollution being the exhaust of the engine. The power to move a vehicle comes from burning fuel in an engine. Pollution from vehicles comes from by-products of this combustion process (exhaust) and from evaporation of the fuel itself. The stationary engines in heavy industries also are the source of pollution. The necessary steps must be taken in the direction to control emission.
This work is an attempt to control the emissions caused by the engine exhaust using charcoal and water. The unit developed is fitted to the exhaust of the system. The sound produced under water is less audible than it produced in atmosphere. The charcoal absorbs the exhaust gases there by bringing down the emission caused by the engines. This is simple cheaper and easy to install unlike the conventional catalytic convertor. The smoke coming out of the exhaust of an engine is also a source of emission hence we have aimed at reducing the amount of smoke entering the atmosphere by a considerable amount.

EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT CONSTRUCTION

The paper includes a New Concept which could attenuate the vibration effects of Earthquakes on buildings and thus could be used as an earthquake resistant technology for futuristic constructions.
In the this paper, the earthquake resistant design system based on the basic principles for the design of building structures and the seismicity in India is proposed. Here the main idea is to provide dampers or isolators at base and at some pre-calculated heights i.e. at some floors of the building too.
A complete description of this isolation technology has been included which covers the effect of earthquakes on normal building and how this isolation minimises these effects. Comparison of lateral loading with and without isolation has also been made. It has been found in the study that the proposed technology can be used in future buildings easily, safely and economically and would definitely give fruitful results.

Slot assignment technique to vehicles to send the safety messages plays an important role in safety in VANET but it also poses a major challenge. Because the environment in VANET is completely different from other networks. DTMAC is TDMA MAC protocol based on fully distributed VANET. But in DTMAC time slots are statically assigned to the vehicles based on fixed location on the road so there is wastages of time slots if there are not enough vehicles to use these time slots. In this research work to utilize these time slots efficiently we are proposing a new algorithm to dynamically assigning these time slots according to need.

Shear walls generally used in high earth quake prone areas, as they are highly efficient in taking the loads. The earthquake load and wind load is quite high in some specified zones ,to overcome this problem shear wall are efficient and effective. To determine the solution for shear wall location in multi-storey building.. The earthquake load is to be calculated and applied to a multi-storied building of plan 12mx15m and G+30 building is located in Zone III for different cases of location of shear wall.This study shows that effect of shear wall on the structure. The analysis of all models was done using Response spectrum method.For this model, results are calculated and analyzed for the effective location of shear wall. Analysis is done by using etab software. The comparison of results has been done based on same parameters like storey drift ratio, displacement etc

Comparative Study of Transport and Diffusion Coefficient of Copper and Cadmium in Saturated Clay and Fined Grained Soil

diffusion test carried out to find the effective diffusion coefficient (D*) of Cu and Cd in clay soil (Soil X). In this study, batch equilibrium sorption experiments are carried out for different range of concentrations of Cu and Cd. The results shows the sorption of Cu and Cd in simulated fine grained soil and clay is nonlinear and follows Freundlich sorption isotherm. Cd exhibits higher Kf value and Cu exhibits lower N value for both types of soils. Moreover both metals have higher affinity in clayey soil, which has also higher cation exchange capacity than fine grained soil. In column test, vertical transport of Cu and Cd in saturated fined grained soil was also evaluated. Known concentration of simulated leachate of CuSO4 and CdI2 were introduced in the soil column. Samples of leachate flowing down the column were taken from different sampling ports at different height for Cu and Cd concentration. BTC’s of Cu and Cd at different depth of soil column were drawn. Concentration ratio (C/C0) versus depth curves were also drawn. Then t1/2 (C/C0 = 0.5) and t1 (C/C0 = 1) for different depths were calculated from the BTC’s and investigated for their linear and polynomial relationship with depth. Results indicated that BTC’s of Cu and Cd are “S” patterned. Concentration ratio (C/C0) decreases sharply for initial number of days for smaller depths. At same depths, t1 for Cd is significantly less than Cu. Cd was the more mobile with the higher recovery in the effluent solution. Time t1 follows second order polynomial relationship with depth for both Cu and Cd, while t1/2 and depth gives approximate same values of R2 for linear and second order polynomial equations. In diffusion study, effective diffusion coefficient (D*) of Cu and Cd in saturated clay soil were calculated using solution of transient diffusion equation. Different unknown parameters of equation were measured from laboratory experiments. Cu and Cd ions were contained in simulated leachate. The calculated D* range for Cu and Cd is 2.02×10-10 to 2.25 ×10-10 and 2.109×10-10 to 2.28×10-10 respectively. The effective diffusion coefficient ranges are in good agreement with previous studies. In this study a very small range of D* is given for Cu and Cd instead of a particular value. Since D* value measurement is very sensitive and requires computer programs to solve equation, it is suitable to give a range of D* to compensate the requirement of any numerical method

seismic zone IV is considered. The equivalent static method and push over analysis is adopted and analysis is carried out by using ETABS V15 software. The various seismic parameters such as storey shear, displacement, storey drift, base shear and time period are obtained from analysis and the results were compared. From the study it is observed that Storey displacement, Storey shear, Storey drift, time period, Bending moment and shear force are reduced in steel and composite building as compared to R.C.C building. These values are slightly more in case of composite building as compared to steel building. From the pushover analysis it is clear that composite building has higher values of displacement and base shear as compared to R.C.C and steel building. From overall study it is concluded that the composite building frame shows better performance due to seismic effect as compared to R.C.C building frame, and steel building frame

Stabilization of Black Cotton Soil by Using Bagasse Ash and Lime

(Atterberg) and California bearing ratio (CBR). First, particles size distribution was determined from grading test, secondly varying percentages (3%, 5%, and 7%) of lime was used to stabilize clay soil and then plasticity and CBR were determined. The same procedure was repeated for bagasse ash and finally the varying mix ratios of lime and ash 1:4, 2:3, 3:2 and 4:1 were used on the sample. The PI of the stabilized clay soil decreased with increase in the quantity of lime, ash and ratio lime to ash in all the samples. The addition of lime or bagasse ash helps to reduce the shrinkage and swelling behaviour of soil hence reduction in plasticity. The plasticity reduction in this study was quantified using the swelling tests. The California bearing ratio increased remarkably with increase in lime quantity added but decreased for bagasse ash. The combination of lime and ash gave good results that correspond to the set experiment
according to BS 1377. It was found that both lime and bagasse ash 3:2 ratio increment of CBR, MDD values and decrease the OMC value.Black cotton soil used in this project is collected from a depth of 1m below the ground level in NARGUND Taluk, GADAG District, KAGADAL Village. This soil is weakest soil in Karnataka. We observed that the buildings, roads and around that area suffered from cracks. The soil sample was tested in lab and exhibits very high liquid limit, plastic limit and low shrinkage limit.

configuration. The analysis is carried out for G+10 story flat slab RC building resting on different slope i.e.100 ,200 and 300 are compared with plain ground model. The Equivalent static method and Response spectrum method is adopted and analysis is carried out by using ETABS 2015 software. The various seismic parameters such as story displacement, story drift, base shear and time period are obtained from analysis and the result are compared. From the study it is conclude that story displacement, story drift and time period is more for plain ground model as compare to sloping ground model because of increase in stiffness of sloping ground model. Base shear of sloping ground model is more as compared with plain ground model, because of increase in self weight of the
building. From the study it is concluded that step back set back building model has least value of story displacement, time period, story drift and base shear as compared to step building model. From the study it is observed that base shear value is more for 300 slope model as compared 100 , 200 and plain ground model. From overall study it is concluded that flat slab RC building with step back-set back building shows better seismic performance as compared to step back model.

because the concept opens up opportunities for new services and new innovations. This paper proposes a new technique of Most Favourable Energy Extraction (MFEE), which would be the most appropriate for transmission nodes during the transmission of data between the sender node and the receiver in IOT based on WSN (Internet of Things). The MFEE technique will be implemented using the Network Simulator 2 simulation tool and compared with the existing distributed relay selection (EDRS) method. Performance evaluation of both the proposed method and the existing method is done, based on performance metrics of packet delivery ratio and
total energy consumption and throughput. The results of the simulation showed that the proposed MFEE method exceeds the existing EDRS method in terms of total energy consumption with an improvement of about 35%.

This multi-storied building structure will be analysed not only considering the vertical loads (dead load & live load), it also includes lateral load (earthquake load). Earth quake loads will be considered for all different zones in India. Structural modelling & analysis will be done using ETABS software
