EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON STRENGHT PROPERTIES OF WASTE PLASTIC IN CONCERTE
Md Mansoor Ahmed , Sultan Md Hasham Waqid A Mirza, Mohammed Sohail Ahmed, Md Muzamil Bhandari · Assistant Professor, Civil Engg Dept, Khaja Banda Nawaz College of Engineering, Gulbarga Karnataka India, IN
Experimental investigations were performed to study Fresh properties (slump and density) and mechanical properties (compressive strength, flexural strength, splitting tensile strength).
It is to conclude that Waste plastic can be effectively re-used without affecting the mechanical properties considerably (5- 10%). With increase in the percentage of plastic there has been a sudden decrease in early strength but the strength developed to the value as that of the conventional M25 concrete when 28 day tests were performed.
As the Mix M4 for 6% of waste plastic, the strength has been developed at 39.38 N/mm2 in compressive strength at 28 days.
It is observed that for more percentage addition of plastics i.e 6% in the present case, the 7 day strength has been increased when compared with conventional concrete. The Mix M4 for 6% of waste plastic, the strength has been developed at 4.38 N/mm2 in flexural strength of concrete. For Mix M4 for 6% of waste plastic, the strength has been developed to about 3.54 N/mm2 in split tensile strength in 28 days. For less percentage addition (2-4%) of plastic, there is no considerable variation in 7 day, and 28 day compression strength and split tensile strength.
Concrete with plastic waste can be used for less important works where concrete is not going to bear more loads.

DOMESTIC DIRECT MEMBRANE FILTRATION AND IMPLICATIONS FOR COUPLING WITH ANAEROBIC MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR (DF-ANMBR) FOR WASTEWATER
Bollaboina Laxmi , Pingili Vydehi, Munigala srikavya · Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, Jayamukhi Institute of Technological Sciences, Chennaraopet Mandal, Narsampet, Nekkonda Rd, Makdumpuram, Telangana 506332., IN
A process is proposed to treat municipal wastewater by coupling a DF system with an anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR). AnMBRs generally treat industrial strength wastewater, which is high in chemical oxygen demand (COD), and may struggle with domestic wastewater, which is generally considered low strength in terms of COD.
The MFI method was adapted and used to test the fouling propensity of various treatment streams in the DFAnMBR system, including raw domestic Wastewater, concentrated domestic wastewater (20X by DF), and liquor from an active AnMBR.The effect of powdered activated carbon (PAC) on fouling propensity was also investigated. Raw wastewater had a fouling potential of about 25% of the AnMBR MFI, and with the utilization of PAC the fouling potential was further decreased to nearly 50% of the original fouling potential. The DF concentrated stream had a higher MFI value than liquor from the AnMBR, but presumably some of organics contributing to fouling would be degraded in the AnMBR. This study demonstrated that DF of raw wastewater is feasible, and the combined use of DF and AnMBR is highly promising.

In this experimental study we compare results in flexural load as well as in deformation format. The test result shows that flexural strength of beam was increased when groove size and diameter of bar is increases. A parametric study was conducted to examine the effect of type, number, diameter of FE500 bars and bond length on flexural response. Also study was conducted changes in ultimate load carrying capacity of the retrofitted beams due to effect of groove size and bonded length of bar. Some studied parameters affected the flexural strength and deflection of beam models. Retrofitting by FE500 bar increase flexural strength of beam by 33.10% than regular RC beam, where deflection is ranges between 3.6 mm to 4.6 mm the first crack is developed on retrofitted beam. The first crack is seen at the load ranges between 37.12 to 40.00 kN. which take average load 38.60 kN safely. Retrofitting by NSM technique increases the strength of damaged member and increasing the lifespan of structure. this technique has more future scope because saving the cost of maintenance.

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ANALYSIS & DESIGN OF DOUBLE STOREY 400/220KV GIS CUM GANTRY (TOWER) BUILDING AND CONVENTIONAL GIS BUILDING
Nilesh Chandra Lal , Pankaj Singh · M. Tech Structural Engineering, R.K.D.F.Institute of Science & Technology, IN
The land available for 400/220 KV sub-station projects in urban cities is very small and irregular. The complete project cycle of the GIS project from planning to commissioning stage is very time consuming and complex. Thus, the planned time to build GIS (Gas Insulated Substations) equipment is too long and could not satisfy the project’s schedule. Under such conditions, to save space, time & cost, a Double Storey GIS building with 400 KV Gantry on the top of the building in 400/220 KV GIS substation can be evolved. This is a new way to solve problem of space in urban areas although there may be already other proven solutions. With this type of arrangement, we are expected to solve the land associated problem for the GIS substations.

SMART SYSTEM FOR ROAD SAFETY ON VEHICLES
Mr. Anoop M M , Mr. Unnikrishnan P S, Mr. Shanu John
The basic strategy of a safe system approach in today’s present day scenario is to ensure that in the event of a crash, the impact energies remain below the threshold likely to produce either death or serious injury. However in this paper we present a system in on detection pedestrians, the speed of the vehicle is reduced to a speed, such that the vehicle owner can steer their vehicle to safety thereby protecting the pedestrians. Along with this, we also propose a sign board voice alert system so that the driver of the vehicle need not take their eyes of the road.

DESIGN, FABRICATION AND TESTING OF A CHIMNEY TO CONVERT THERMAL ENERGY TO ELECTRICAL ENERGY USING TEG’S
Mr. Manjesh B C · Asst. Professor & Alumni Officer, New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore, India, IN
In this project our approach is to capture the heat from the flue gases which is being wasted otherwise. Our methodology includes the use of thermoelectric generator (TEG) modules to convert the waste heat directly into electrical power. These TEG modules are clamped onto the required region and a cooling system is provided on one side of the TEG module to produce electricity, which is then passed through a booster / joule thief circuit.
The thermoelectric generator provides electric power which may be used to operate the motor which drives the blower and also to charge a battery which is used when the furnace is started up. In the event that the power is interrupted, as occurs during storms or fault conditions in the public utility power distribution system, the furnace continues to run uninterruptedly. This high voltage output can thus be utilized for various purpose, thereby reducing the load on auxiliaries and increasing the overall efficiency

Shailesh Vaidya , G.C. Khimesara · Faculty of Management Studies, PAHER University, IN
development of quality improvement framework. In the second phase, a fuzzy-Kano approach was applied for categorization of identified factors as attractive, must-be and one-dimensional. Furthermore, the fuzzy Kano model suggested that factors like Amenities, Serviceability, MIS, and Accessibility of Faculties are must-be for providing quality education while Research & Consultancy, Training & Placements, Stakeholders Satisfactions, Global Synergy and Evaluation System are attractive factors in enhancing education quality. Whereas factors like Management Responsibility, Infrastructure & Resources, Quality Enhancement cell, Industry–Institute Collaboration, AlumniAssociations and Demographic Location of Institute are one-dimensional factors whose presence increase education in proportion. This study could be useful to develop a quality improvement framework for various EEIs for enhancement their education quality standard. This would be a benefit for all the stakeholder of EEIs in many perspectives such as gaining reputation and attracting more masses to particular EEIs.
