Development of Pavement Deterioration Models and Strategy for Maintenance Management

PMS includes activities with design, construction and maintenance of pavements. The PMS systems have become important tools for the road engineer to organize the activities of the road sector to meet the ever increasing demands of growing traffic in a developing country like India. The highway profession is at the crossroads and there are challenges, threats and pressures from all directions. Concerted efforts are now underway to developed road management and planning tools to improve upon the existing road network under the financial constraints. These tools are essential for the assessing the financial needs of the highway sector, evaluating the alternative maintenance strategies and prioritizing the work programs.
In this study, an attempt is made to development of pavement deterioration models to estimate the performance of the road network and to predict future deterioration levels of pavements with minimum data. For analysis selected stretches on the five major road networks in Warangal city are used to measure the various parameters related to pavement evaluation and data so obtained is used for development of the maintenance strategies for various distress Which are observed on the pavement?

The primary difficulties appear to be Economic feasibility and Sustainability There is as yet an absence of any complete information and know-how in the general population domain in regards to functional parts of Urban Farming. The Economic expenses and practicality for expansive scale urban Farming appears to be restrictive. Accordingly, up until this point, the urban cultivating industry has not developed much. In this paper, we examine into the Sustainability of UF, utilizing the SAFA measurements of Sustainability as reference. i.e. Ecological, Social, Economic and Institutional measurements. In this paper, we examine six effectively working urban homesteads, some are by people, some are co-agents and some are upheld by Institutions like government or different organizations and investigate their Sustainability Dimensions. This paper tries to think about these operational models of Urban Farms from the part of rehashing a similar model in different areas.

the development of automatic human recognition systems based on biometrics, i.e. the analysis of a person's psychological and behavioral features. Gait, or the peculiar manner of walking, allows the recognition process to be made at a distance since it is possible to extract the gait information from a video sequence of a distant person walking. In this Dissertation gait recognition algorithm based on the histograms of the silhouette of a person by using gait. A binary silhouette of the walking person is obtained by background subtraction; the binary silhouettes are then aligned and generate a histogram of each silhouette image. Then compare their histograms using the Bhattacharyya coefficient method silhouettes. Histogram of a number of persons is used for recognition purposes.

Supply chain management (SCM) can be considered as the coordination of distributed decision making of organization on material flow and information flow. Supplier selection is one of the important factors in Supply Chain Management. This research contains a review of various decisions making in construction supply chain management, generally used methods and factors for supplier selection by other industries. This paper has been planned to deal with identification of factors affecting SCM, then carrying out the quantitative analysis using a questionnaire survey among engineers, contractors and suppliers by using the Relative Importance Index (RII) Method. All factors affecting SCM have been ranked using RII Method using the response acquired from stakeholders. Ranking has been carried out for each stakeholder group and also as an overall response from stakeholders.

The methodology is involved three main stages, Pre-Study of the Value Engineering, value engineering job plan, and post study of the value engineering. In this study, how the principles of Value Engineering are applied in housing construction projects is explained, by mean of providing better quality with lower cost. This study is focused on effectiveness of value engineering concept in housing projects. Study aimed to reduce overall cost of housing project without compromising the performance by identifying and reducing unnecessary costs. Value engineering methodology for this study consist six phase job plans namely information phase, function analysis phase, creative phase, evaluation phase, development phase and recommendation phase. In this work value engineering study applied on housing project located at Ahmedabad city. Value engineering job plan will be applied for overall cost reduction by identifying and reducing unnecessary costs.

EFFECT OF FRICTION AND LUBRICATION IN DEEP DRAWING

wrinkling in flange, wrinkling in wall, tearing, earing, localized necking and fracture. The blank is drawn radially inwards the flange undergoes radial tension and circumferential compression. The latter may cause wrinkling of the flange if the draw ratio is large, or if the cup diameter-to-thickness ratio is high. A blank-holder usually applies sufficient pressure on the blank to prevent wrinkling. Radial tensile stress on the flange being drawn is produced by the tension on the cup wall induced by the punch force. Hence, when drawing cups at larger draw ratios, larger radial tension are created on the flange and higher tensile stress is needed on the cup wall. Bending and unbending over the die radius is also provided by this tensile stress on the cup wall. In addition, the tension on the cup wall has
to help to overcome frictional resistance, at the flange and at the die radius. As the tensile stress that the wall of the cup can withstand is limited to the ultimate tensile strength of the material. In this paper presents the parametric study on deep drawing with presentations with influence of friction and lubrication to be studied.

Fairly often large areas are covered with highly plastic and clayey soils. Extensive laboratory and field trials have been carried out by various researches and have shown promising results for application of such expansive soils after Stabilization. soft soils form problematic sub grade for pavements due to its low bearing capacity and strength. Pavement loads carrying on the soft sub grade soil may cause detrimental pumping actions. when they are located in areas with high water table which cause both construction and in service performance problems. The common solutions on encountering such problems include excavation and replacement of soils. By chemical stabilization with chlorides NACL, CACL2. On certain properties of soil such as OMC, MDD, UCC,
CBR has been studied under both heavy and light compaction. Hence in the present work experimentation is carried out to investigate the influence of chlorides including Nacl,Cacl2 on the engineering properties of expansive soils. Foot over Bridge at East Fort

In this study, effort has been made to identify the pedestrian traffic demand at East Fort (Bus terminal – Railway station) area at Thiruvananthapuram, owing to its high congestion, poor crossing facilities, great risk of accidents, difficulty to catch the bus or train on time, high pollution and its need for pedestrian safety. A steel lattice girder type foot over bridge is recommended for this site. The main truss, roof truss and other components such as floor, top and bottom chord members, vertical and diagonal members, supporting beam, cross beam, stair, column, diagonal braces and slab base was designed and checked for safety.

being given to the judgment of the adequacy of strength in Reinforced Concrete (RC) framed structures to resist strapping ground motions. Further with more understanding of structural behaviour at micro level/element level the concept of “capacity design” was introduced & this enforced to decide the required recital of the structure right at the design stage itself. The NON LINEAR STAGNANT ANALYSIS (PUSHOVER ANALYSIS) is gaining recognition for this function. In the pushover examination, non linear finite element model of structure eg: a building frame) subjected to gravity loads is tangentially loaded until either a predefined target disarticulation is met. The procedure for developing vulnerability or fragility curves and the damage probability indicates for buildings are discussed using probabilistic approach. For this purpose, RC FRAMES and SHORT LEG SHEAR WALLS are initially analysed and designed using ETABS v 13.2.2-FINITE ELEMENT SOFTWARE, under the combination of gravity loading and seismic loading for a particular seismic zone.

shallow rectangular tunnels are strongly affected by surrounding soil pressure and internal hydrostatic pressure. Racking i.e., displacement of sidewalls, is a major failure of rectangular tunnels. Specifically geometry of one-by-one twin barrel configuration is studied. A wide range of structural and geotechnical parameters are considered in this study. The presence of lateral load reflects major changes in stress value, moments and displacement. Based on the results of analysis, moments and displacements of underground shallow water rectangular tunnels under design loads without considering seismic forces are studied.

An Experimental Investigation on Usage of Quarry Dust as a Partial Replacement of Sand in Concrete

compressive strength of cubes have been done at the ages of 7 and 28 days and were obtained at room temperature. The experimental study have shown that there is considerable increase in 28 days compressive strength marked for 50% replacement of sand by quarry dust and also for 20% replacement. The workability of the concrete tends to decrease with the rise in percentage replacement of sand as a result of increase in water absorption rate of quarry dust. The height of slump constant remains constant at 300mm for all mixes with same water-cement ratio i.e. workability in terms of slump marked as 0mm. The conclusion can be made that the use of quarry dust as an alternative to river sand can be done in the concrete mixes suitably.

PROGRESSIVE COLLAPSE ANALYSIS OF RC BUILDINGS ON HILL STATION BY USING NON-LINEAR DYNAMIC ANALYSIS

software ETABS and loads are applied as per GSA 2003 guidelines, for evaluation of progressive collapse nonlinear dynamic method of analysis has been used. To perform non-linear dynamic analysis time history data of Bhuj Earthquake has been applied to the building models. By following the guidelines of general services administration GSA 2003, such as column removal case one at a time has been carried out, namely removal of Corner column both small and long in case of varying ground slopes and Exterior column at ground floor. For all three cases, nonlinear dynamic analysis has done and DCR values are evaluated. Depending upon DCR ratios it is observed that buildings designed as per Indian standard codes are vulnerable to progressive collapse or not. Also comparison of results
obtained due to non linear dynamic analysis like story displacement, base shear and story shear for both along the slope and across the slope of buildings due to effect of column removal conditions as mentioned above has been plotted.

In this project, quasi-static three-point bending tests were carried out to evaluate the performance of side door beams made of AHSS and aluminium alloy. The side door beam was also tested for different orientations and sections so as to obtain an optimum setting of the door beam. We have used and reviewed a methodology from an existing research paper published by GayanRathnaweera, Yvonne Durandet, Dong Ruan and Michael Hajj. This experimentation was done using the commercial software package LS-DYNA.

The Test Performed are Compressive Strength, Split-Tensile Strength, Flexural Strength, Acid-Resistance test and Durability Test. The Obtained Results are Compared by Using of MATLAB, EXCEL with MULTI-VARIABLE NONLINEAR REGRESSION ANALYSIS .This gives us the Percentage Error Between the Experimental and Estimated Results

RF communication system and may potentially enable new wireless front-end architecture. The piezoelectric material zinc oxide is used for the better performance of the device. The geometrical parameters of the resonator determine the resonant frequency, the quality factor and the motional resistance hence the parameters need to be properly optimized. The parameter optimization ensures the best performance of the device. The optimization has been done by Taguchi method of design of experimentations followed by ANOVA (analysis of variance). The optimized dimensions have been used for simulation by COMSOLTM Multiphysics. Finally, some issues are discussed while fabricating the device

Time History Analysis of Unsymmetrical Multistorey Building and Comparative Study of Displacement

and Time history analysis in ETABS software. The linear time history is done by taking the time. For time history analysis time history record of 2001 BHUJ Earth Quake, Gujarath are used. The displacement, drift and base shear results are compared and pushover curve, capacity curve and performance point is found for the building. From the obtained results for building with irregularities time history analysis gives the realistic and better results compared to the pushover analysis.

A-DATA ANALYSIS TO IDENTIFY THE IMPACT OF DIABETES AMONG ALL GROUPS USING MACHINE LEARNING TECHNIQUES

future, there will maximum number of persons in all the groups from India are affected by type2 diabetes. In our results shows a strategy that major impact of diabetes is likely prone to female than the male. Also, the range of calculation based on non-diabetic shows that almost 70% increase in diabetic among all group especially for the adult. The resultant report shows the report of diabetic patients through a development of health monitoring software using effective classification decision tree algorithm of machine learning language and probabilistic risk assessment techniques from the readmitted patient were 30% among all groups. This paper will help to take precaution treatment among all groups before entering the diabetic disease.
